I’m the owner of flat so as a live in landlord, rent is paid directly to me each month for the month ahead and includes all utilities. My current pad mate is moving out early April as she’s having to move back in with family due to being out of work so I’d be looking for someone to take over from her early - mid April.
I’m a bit flexible on the move in date and don’t mind having a little gap (within reason) plus I’m looking for someone I can genuinely get on with so need to pick carefully.
I’m an easy going guy so will get on with anyone who isn’t a weirdo or a scruff lol
❗️ The important bit – pad mate etiquette:
❗️ Spoiler alert: Most of this is basic flat mate etiquette and if you don’t already know what that is then it’s probably not for you.
Tattoo this to the inside of your eyelids if you have to because this is literally the most important thing you will ever read…. ever!
🧽 1. Cleanliness - This is extremely important to me. I’m a very house proud person and want the flat to be clean and tidy at all times and if you’re not the same then we’re definitely not gonna get on. You need to make an equal contribution as I do to keeping the place clean and tidy and that includes ALL areas outside of your bedroom.
💰 2. Pay your rent on time - If you choose to live life on the edge (payday to payday) and don’t keep money aside for basic necessities such as paying your rent on time then that’s on you but life’s too short to spend it chasing you for rent so please don’t be that guy!
📦 3. Your stuff & my stuff - yes, there’s a distinction! I buy my food, my drink and my personal effects for me, not for you - there’s a co-op next door so if I’ve got something in the fridge that takes your fancy then feel free to go and buy your own and I’ll do the same.
📞 4. Communication - I’m super approachable so if I have any annoying habits that annoy you then tell me and vice versa.
👋🏻 5. Notice - Ideally I’m looking for someone I can live with long term however you’re free to leave whenever just as I’m free to ask you to leave whenever. If this happens though, I’ll give you a minimum of a months notice and would appreciate if you can do the same.
