Small double in 2 bed flat in SK1 Underbank

How's it going?

My name is Lizzie, I'm a live in landlord. I have a two bed flat in the gorgeous historic town of Stockport (SK1) 6 mins on the train into Manchester City centre with excellent transport links. We're right in the town centre, it's lush (Underbanks if you know it!)

About me:

Neurodivergent queer, very left, anti-hate, anti-fascist, anti-capitalist, pro trans liberation, pro fat liberation etc. Friendly, homely vibes. I'm an animal lover, working on building a creative practice, passionate about inclusive mental health services and being an active member of my community.

I have 3 pets so I do understand if my home might not be of interest to you for that reason - I'm looking for someone who is comfortable sharing their space with animals so that you can enjoy this furry friendly household that includes two indoor cats (long haired, very affectionate and loving although one can be a sassy McNassy from time to time) and a small 1 yr old pup called Rascal who... Well... Lives up to his name but is also extremely sweet and loving (and most importantly - is house trained and learning his manners).

Rascal is a terrier/Chihuahua mix so I want to be open with you at this point and say that he can be a bit of a yapper at times during the day but not for prolonged periods (neighbourhod watch guy) and I am actively working on this in training - he just wants to keep the family safe. The pets take up a lot of space in the home and they are very likely to want to sit in your lap and ask for affection but of course your room will be completely your own where you can shut the door on the needy little tykes. Just to reiterate - all of the animals are very friendly.

As a housemate/live in LL I very much value things like regular check in chats and open communication to keep things ticking over nicely and make sure everyone is happy and comfortable.

I am open to the idea of someone moving in that wants to keep themselves to themselves and use the flat as a base or someone who wants to be around more and have more of a friendship.

The rent is £560 pcm incl all bills for a small-ish double room (furnished with a wardrobe, clothes rail and two sets of drawers - comfy arm chair and an optional desk). I can be somewhat flexible with some of the furnishings if you're the right fit for our home.

The room will be available at the start of July.
