Hi I'm Daniel, I moved to Herne Bay three years ago from London and Oh My Gosh I am so glad I did. My quality of life since living by the sea has improved dramatically. I don't think I could live inland again.
My house here is in a great spot it's in Bishopstone which is just before the Reculver Nature Park. It's five minutes from the beach. There's no houses opposite us, just fields. We pray that Taylor Wimpey should never find us. Honestly though, it's a hidden gem, we're truly blessed. Huge driveway everyone has off-street parking.

I rent out the rooms in my house and there's been maybe 8 different people who have come and gone in the time I've been here. I recognise that life is often very unpredicatable and uncertain for a lot of people at the moment as the World is in a very odd state(!), so I try to be as accomodating to this as possible. Most people who have lived here have been in a transitional period of their life and have liked that there is no 12-month contract, huge deposit or anything like that. Some have stayed over 12 months, some less, it makes no difference to me, I'm just glad to be in a position to offer help (in a non patronising way of course).

Jess is leaving at the end of September, and Clara is moving back to Spain mid-October, so it will be just Emma and I here. Currently I work in London Thursday, Friday and Saturday so I'm not here for those three days, but I'm opening a Restaurant here in Herne Bay and expect to be opening by the end of October. I'll be at the Restaurant all day every day for the first six months when we do open though so you will hardly ever see me. Brecknock Bros on Mortimer Street if you want to look us up. We've had every possible delay under the Sun from utility companies etc but we will be open soon. Emma works full time six days a week, but not with me.

We're a very chilled house. I'll always make food for anyone that wants it, and I buy all the cleaning products, bin bags, Olive Oil, really good Salt etc etc. We've got a really good coffee machine with two grinders one decaf that I buy the coffee for, because it's nice to be nice. We all keep the place clean and tidy, everyone gets on really well. There's no pressure to hang out with anyone else but everyone is always happy to hang out, if that makes sense. This is a really great house, immaculate vibes, everyone that has lived here has loved their time here and I have felt incredibly blessed to have had such great people living here with me. I know the whole 'Live in Landlord' thing is perhaps an odd dynamic but I'm genuinely a good person. I'm not tight with the heating or anyone having guests over or anything like that. Life's too short to be mean over the little things.

It's hard to fully know if people are a good fit to live together until you actually meet, but basically we're good people who care about the happiness of others, and if you're the same then you'll most likely be a good fit here. That's a good place to start anyway, is what I've realised over the last three years. I personally find that I get on better living with Females, and Emma would prefer that another Girl move in, but we are open to all of course, without prejudice.
