Hi everyone!

My name is James. I'm a friendly, Australian-British University tutor (at Glasgow Uni) looking for a long-term roommate for my spare double room in my flat. My lovely roommate Lilly (29yo) is leaving.

About me:

I'm well-travelled and have settled in Glasgow with my family after many years in Vietnam, London, and Australia. I love travelling, Scotland, hiking, chill time, good food and wine, live music and learning languages (Vietnamese and French). I'm tidy, clean, very considerate of roommates' needs and space, and would ideally like to make a new friend as well as a housemate. :) I'm very LGBTQ+ friendly and open (my father was gay and I'm very close with his husband / my stepdad, many of my pals identify as LGBTQ+) and I'm respectful of all cultures and backgrounds. I live just down the road from my mum and sis in Shawlands and my girlfriend lives in Govan.

I like a fairly chilled home during the week and am open to socialising etc more at the weekends. Obviously like to have fun, just not a crazy flat. I'm more of a leave the party than bring the party home kinda guy these days haha ;) Love a dram, good chat, and music on at home, cooking together, getting pints, talking shite, quiet movie nights, the odd mates night.

The room / flat:

It is a lovely, quiet, well-lit double room with a view of the riverside out the back, a double bed, clothes rack, large desk and chair, 2 bracketed shelves, and large bookshelves all in excellent condition (furniture can easily be stored as needed). Measurements are 2.6m x 3.7m (8.5feet x 12 feet)

The flat has a spacious living room, balcony, kitchen and a bright bathroom which are all shared. (See photos) It is a 10-min walk from Queens Park, 2 mins from Langside station (to central) and 7mins walk from all the lovely bars and cafes in Shawlands. I also have a large storage unit suitable for bikes, extra furniture etc.

Costs and conditions:

Rent is £450 per month.
Bills per person per month: Wifi £20, CTAX £64.50, TV £6.50, Utilities £35 summer, (£60-75 Winter.)
Rent and bills = £550 / £590-600 (winter)
Deposit: 1 month rent (£450)

I have a full lodger's agreement available which can be agreed upon together. :) one month's notice required to end the contract.
