Double room in quirky Wigston home — looking for the right person

I'm offering a spacious, furnished double room in my clean, modern and slightly quirky home in Wigston, Leics. I'm looking for a **full-time lodger**, and most importantly, I'm looking for the right person to live with — someone where there is a good fit and we both enjoy the arrangement.

I've had lodgers on and off for many years, and I know that compatibility matters much more than simply finding someone who needs a room!

About the home;

* A spacious furnished double bedroom with a comfortable king-size bed and storage.
* Wi-fi and bills included.
* A warm house with central heating and all the usual mod cons.
* Modern bathroom, shared with one adult.
* Large kitchen with good facilities for cooking and meal preparation, including your own fridge/freezer space.
* Vegetarian household — no meat or fish in the kitchen.
* Dishwasher, tumble dryer and garage storage for a bicycle.
* Open-plan seating area and dining room.
* A large, private, established garden, with scope to grow things if you're so inclined.
* Easy, free street parking.
* Good bus links into Leicester and the city centre, including the universities; around 15 minutes into town by bus.
* One affectionate cat, who can easily be kept out of your room if you're not a cat person.

Your room has;

*1 comfortable, king size bed.
*1 wardrobe
*1 desk and chair
*large storage in bay window seat.
*small 2 drawer cabinet
*several shelves
*under bed drawer space.
*2 lamps
*1 fan (for heatwaves!)

About me;

I'm friendly, and can be sociable and chatty, but I also really value privacy, independence and having space to myself. I'm looking for someone who is comfortable with that sort of balance and is willing to communicate and negotiate needs.

I am neurodivergent, and have a chronic illness/energy-limited condition and work from home, so my energy and routine aren't always predictable. I'm therefore particularly looking for someone considerate and self-sufficient, who is happy to get on with their own life as well as sharing a home.

I also have a creative and unconventional life and work, involving LGBTQ+ community and sex positivity, so this isn't a particularly conventional household. I'm looking for someone open-minded, non-judgemental and comfortable with people being themselves.

A few important things;

* No smoking or vaping anywhere on the property, including outside.
* The household is vegetarian, so no meat or fish in the house.
* I'm looking for someone who is genuinely LGBTQ+ friendly and left-leaning politically.
* This is a home rather than a party house, and I'm looking for someone considerate about noise, visitors and shared space.
* Not suitable for a couple.
* I'm primarily looking for a full-time lodger, but I'm open to discussing a Monday–Friday arrangement if that would be a particularly good fit.
* I'm open to a six-month initial arrangement with the possibility of continuing if we're both happy.
