A lovely, large, bright, newly decorated double bedroom (3.5m x 4.5m) in a clean and quiet Victorian house in Abbey Wood, South-East London.
I am looking for a calm, clean. respectful housemate, who will get on well with myself (the landlord), the other tenant (female), and the pet cat.
ROOM: The room is on the first floor. It is furnished with a double bed, two large chests of drawers, a wardrobe and built-in storage. It's a great space, with large west-facing windows looking over a very quiet residential street. The room has been newly painted since the last tenant and is in great condition.
HOUSE: The rest of the three-bed house is clean and well-maintained. There is a large shared living room/dining room, and two bathrooms. The shared bathroom for this room is on the ground floor with a walk-in shower. (My own room is on the top floor with its own bathroom.)
HOUSEMATES: Living in the house are myself, and one English female flatmate who works in the arts.
About myself: I grew up in London, and have since worked abroad (Middle East and Asia) and have been back in London for five years. I have a professional job, eat healthily, run and go to the gym - and like to get away to the country when I can.
KITCHEN: The kitchen has a large fridge, dishwasher, clothes washer/dryer, oven/hobs, and individual food storage areas for each person. Outside is also a garden with a patio and seating area - great in summer!
RENT: Rent includes:
- All bills (council tax, electricity, gas, water)
- Fast broadband
- A weekly visit by a cleaner
TRANSPORT: The main transport is Elizabeth Line from Abbey Wood, which has fast routes to the Canary Wharf, the City etc. Abbey Wood mainline train station goes to London Bridge, Cannon Street, Charring Cross etc. **Abbey Wood station is 10-15 mins walk from the house.**
There are also direct buses to Greenwich and Woolwich.
The area is quiet and safe. There are some basic shops nearby (Coop) and a large Sainsburys.
IDEAL HOUSEMATE: I'm looking for someone who will be a calm, quiet, clean and respectful housemate, who likes their own space, but also is good for the occasional chat with myself and the other tenant.
CAT-LOVERS NEEDED: There is also one cat (pictured, called Vincent), who is very affectionate once he knows you. I am ideally looking for someone who likes cats because he will pester you for attention, sit on you, sleep on your bed etc.
AVAILABILITY: The room will be free from 1 March. Viewings will begin immediately - mainly on weekday evenings.
Ps. If you want to check out the location and commute etc, the address is Howarth Road, SE2.
