Hi everyone,
I’m Lily (she/her) and I’m looking for two new housemates to join me in my lovely flat in Acton, West London. My current flatmates are moving East to be closer to their work but I am choosing to stay because I love the flat and location. Happy to welcome 2 separately interested parties or a pair who know each other already.
About me:
I’m 25, an English teacher and work at a secondary school in Acton. I like cold water swimming, raves, crosswords, literature, collaging, and reality TV.
House vibes:
A clean house is important to me. Ideally no smokers. I like my own space to recharge but some level of communality would be nice. I’d be up for some communal dinners each week etc if the vibes were right!
I love my job but work too much and can be quite exhausted on a week night - I can’t promise to be super high energy after work, but would love a relaxed space where we can all show up as we are, with fun times when the energy is there.
I would prioritise living with queer people but am open to anyone if it’s the right vibe.
Shared values are also important - no terfs, no tories and no zionists please.
Room details:
Two double rooms available. £850 each plus bills (about £100 per month incl. water, gas, electrical and council tax).
Access info:
The flat is on the ground floor. There is a main door with fob access to the building and an intercom. The front door of the flat has one lock and a latch inside.
There are 4 steps from the main door up to the level of the flat’s front door. The flat itself is all on one level. There is a small step up then down again to get onto the balcony.
Not keen on the idea of large pets but would consider pets if necessary.
Location:
The flat is located in a lovely peaceful estate off Acton Vale. Low rise buildings with balconies and green space in between, lots of families and children playing. My building is at the back of the estate next to the allotments. It is also right next to the community centre.
The flat is 2 minutes from Acton Park. 12 minutes from Acton Central on the Mildmay Line. A short bus ride to either Shepherd’s Bush Market or Shepherd’s Bush stations; a 20 minute walk to East Acton station. Frequent buses on the Vale out in front of the estate.
Acton itself has lots of great food, a lovely independent cinema ActOne, and lots of green space. I am biased as I often bump into families I know through work, but it has a community feel that can be hard to access in inner city London.
Description of the flat:
The flat has lovely wooden flooring in the hallway, living room and bedrooms.
Large living room with comfy sofa, armchair and two coffee tables. Inbuilt storage / bookcases in the living room and bedrooms.
Eat-in kitchen (table for 4) with lino floor and blue cupboards and countertops. Washing machine, electric hobs, microwave, oven, toaster, kettle, fridge and freezer in kitchen. No tumble dryer.
Ground floor balcony overlooking communal green space. Accessed by door from the living room.
The bathroom is small but comfortable with good water pressure, an over-bath shower and more in-built storage.
