I’m looking for a friendly, easygoing professional to share my large, well-maintained Victorian flat in Balham – along with two relaxed and affectionate cats.

The available room is a bright and peaceful double (12ft x 10ft) with a large wardrobe, chest of drawers, and a wooden floor. It overlooks a quiet residential street and shares a bathroom with one other.

The flat is a 12-minute walk from Balham tube and overground, and just 2 minutes from the beautiful open spaces of Tooting Common – perfect for walks or a bit of greenery.

Shared spaces include a sunny, south-facing eat-in kitchen with a balcony, a spacious living room that’s comfortable and welcoming, and a large garden – ideal for summer evenings.

About me: I own the flat and live here. I’m retired now, but I used to design and sell jewellery. These days I enjoy a peaceful lifestyle with plenty of yoga and travel. I’m sociable and down-to-earth, and I value a calm, respectful home with the occasional shared meal, glass of wine, and good conversation.

Who it would suit: Someone professional, kind, and considerate, with a sense of humour and a steady income. This is a peaceful and tidy home, so it wouldn’t suit a party lifestyle – more a place to relax and feel at home.

Rent is £1000 per month, inclusive of all bills (council tax, utilities, broadband, etc.).
