Hi everyone! I am looking for a friendly, easy-going professional for our spare room in a lovely 5-bed house in Barnes, SW13,
Ideally looking to let the room on a Mon-Fri basis to someone who wants a London base during the week. However, we’re flexible and open to other arrangements, including full time
I am in my mid-40s and studying for a PhD in Psychology whilst my two children attend a local private school. The children are teenagers and both friendly and mature for their age. They are at school during the day and usually have after school activities and/or home work so the house is very quiet from 8am to 6pm. At weekends they are often out with friends or playing sport and when they are in during weekday evenings they are often in their own bedrooms or watching TV with me downstairs.
We are friendly and relaxed and the house is a calm space. We enjoy going for walks and playing sport as well as spending time with friends, although I am to be found working a great deal of the time whilst I complete my doctorate.
I work from home three days a week so this would suit someone who is mostly in the office. I am open to males or females, ideally in 30s or 40s.
-House-
The house is 5 bedrooms with a spacious living room and a large open plan kitchen-dining-sitting room, opening onto a small garden. The room available is on the first floor and is on the garden side of the house, so it is quiet. There is a double bed, hanging space and drawers for storage and there is a bathroom on the same floor which would be for your use.
-Location-
The house is very well placed to walk to the River Thames (5mins), Richmond Park (15mins) and Barnes Village (15mins). You will also find a selection of shops (including a supermarket), boutiques and pubs (The Crossing, The White Hart and The Brown Dog) in close vicinity on (or close to) White Hart Lane.
Barnes station and Barnes Bridge station are both a 10-12min walk (20min trains into Waterloo) and you can get onto the Tube network by walking across Hammersmith Bridge to Hammersmith Tube station. There are also several bus stops close by that can take you to Richmond, Hammersmith Bridge or Putney.
