The Flat
A good sized, clean and modern flat with a kitchen, a shower room with a washer/dryer, a separate toilet, a living room with a balcony and three double bedrooms.
Your Room
A compact, furnished double bedroom, with a wardrobe and under-bed storage. As you can see from the photos, it’s a small room, so would be better suited to someone who’s predominantly not working from home, though there’s some flexibility to use the living room when it’s free. The room has a large west facing window that catches the evening sun, perfect for plants. The Wi-Fi is fast and reliable.
Location
An ideal location, situated just off Roman Road, sheltered from the main road on a quiet street. It’s a 3-minute walk to Bethnal Green Underground Station (Central Line) and 10 minutes to Victoria Park, which has a great market on the weekend.
If you know the area, you’ll know you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to cafes, bars, restaurants, markets and galleries. Plus, it’s only a 15-minute ride into central London on the tube.
Rent & Bills
Rent for this room is £840 per month. Utility bills, broadband and council tax come to approximately £104 per month, though this will hopefully go down as we head into summer. Rent is paid via standing order every month (£944 total). We deal directly with our landlord, so there are no agency fees.
Your Housemates
Eli - 30, an English Tutor transitioning into a career in Psychotherapy. Often found with his nose in a book. Interests include film, photography, live music, travel and nights out with friends (think anything Soul & Funk). I’ve been in London for a few years now and like to explore the city whenever I get the chance. I reckon I’ve single handily propped up the economy of every coffee shop in a three-mile radius, it’s somewhat problematic.
—
Alayana – 30, Irish, I work in Catastrophe Modelling and I’ve been in London about 4 years now. I’m pretty active on the weekends and happy for others to join in if that’s something you’re looking for in a flatmate. I love all things East London including Vicky P and a stroll through the markets. Also enjoys music events, comedy gigs, pub quizzes, travelling and a terrible TV show binge here and there.
—
We’re both pretty busy doing our own thing, but also like to chill and catchup when we’re in the flat, hang out with mutuals and go for the odd drink/pub quiz after work. We keep the flat clean and tidy, and generally chip in to look after the place.
We’re looking for someone easy-going and sociable who wants a place to call home. Ideally, you’re someone who’s happy to socialise and hangout, but also respects that we all need our own space sometimes. It’s cliche, but still worth saying. If this sounds like you, then feel free to get in touch and tell us a little bit about yourself.
We all know this SpareRoom thing can be a bit of a nightmare, but we'll do our best to get back to people as soon as possible to arrange viewings.
The tenancy starts on the 1st April, with some flexibility.
Looking forward to hearing from you soon.
