Single employed woman 30+ invited to house-share with three other women in a restored, centrally-heated, double-glazed six-bedroom Victorian house on the Blackheath/ Lewisham border. Your first-floor room is large (4.5m x 4.27m), has a period fireplace and is furnished with a double bed, side-table, wardrobe, table, chair, bookcases, two easy chairs, coffee table and its own wi-fi extension hub. It comes with a private, centrally-heated bathroom on the ground floor, comprising a double shower, washbasin, and lavatory. We share a large kitchen-diner, surrounded on two sides by terraces, the garden designed to support wild life, and a Bosch automatic washing machine and Miele tumble dryer. Shared spaces are professionally cleaned every fortnight. Car parking is available on the road with purchase of a Resident's Permit. Rent includes the cost of utilities and Council Tax.

Travel connections are excellent. Four minutes walk away is Lewisham railway station, its main bus station and the Docklands Light Railway. Overland trains to London Bridge, Waterloo East, Charing Cross, and Cannon Street are every ten minutes and every thirty minutes to Victoria. Buses run to south, central, and north London, including night buses from Trafalgar Square and the new Bakerloop service. DLR runs to Canary Wharf, Bank, Tower Gateway, Stratford, Beckton, and London Airport. Black cabs are available at the railway station until late at night.

Shopping is excellent, with a major branch of Tesco’s over the road, open from 06.00 to midnight, local small shops including a pharmacy and a post office, Maggie’s Café and a new restaurant all en route to the station. Lewisham centre has major banks and building societies, high street shops, a traditional street market, and a range of delicatessens and specialist food shops.

The doctors’ surgery is five minutes walk away. Local open green spaces are at the top of the hill, where the Heath at Blackheath and Greenwich Royal Park stretch down to the River Thames, where there is a regular boat service to Westminster and Woolwich. Blackheath village, with its range of boutiques, coffee shops, and a Sunday Farmer’s Market is a short walk away, and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Greenwich, home of the Cutty Sark, Maritime Museum, Royal Observatory and the University of Greenwich is about a fifteen minute walk or, of course, rapidly accessed via bus or DLR.

We are a quiet, tidy household, pet-free and no-smoking, friendly but respecting each other’s space, politically to the left and LGBTQIA+ affirmative. One of us is an academic, another an editor, and the third a biochemist.
