I’m looking for a responsible, mature individual to rent out the master bedroom in my Borough, SE1 flat. You will likely get the entire place to yourselves for at least 20 days each month. It comes with a brilliant view (the Shard & the London Eye), plenty of natural light, a Zone 1 location. Modern kitchen and bathroom, with decent storage space. Smart TV. Ex-council flat, on the 5th floor with a lift. (No concierge)
It's 5 min walk from Borough Tube station. 10 min from London Bridge and Elephant & Castle. 15 min walk from the Thames,
Tate Modern, and Waterloo Station. Council Tax band C. Price includes all bills (council tax, service charge, gas, electricity, water, high-speed WiFi, TV license).
Finding the right person is important, so I would rent this out at a below-market rate for the location. Available from mid-July, with some flexibility in June. Furniture is provided, but you could potentially move some of your own in. Couples are also a possibility, at approx £2000/month.
The ideal person would be 30s-50s, independent, respectful, internationally-minded, and ok with myself, my partner & child (currently a well-behaved 6-year-old boy) staying in the other bedroom once a month/on school holidays. You would get plenty of notice about our timing. I would also be coming to London and using the flat 2-3 times a month for work. I'm an American novelist and creative writing professor, easy going, interested in the arts, and sociable.
