The garden bedroom is available until the June 3rd, and then again after August 1st.
It has original wooden floors that I restored a couple of years ago. The double doors open onto the back garden. It's currently available from now until the 4th of June, and then again from August 1st.
The other two rooms are occupied at the moment the current occupants say that they may become available again depending on where two post master's career jobs are found
The double is £150 more for a couple.
I'm leaving them on in case you're thinking of moving but don't have to at the moment.
The house was built in 1904, with high ceilings, large windows, restored wooden floorboards downstairs, and carpets upstairs. I have redecorated all of the rooms in the last few years.
There's a lounge for us all to share, with a wood burning stove, and a long back garden surrounded hedges and trees with a seating area.
There are lots of really nice parks nearby, including Beckenham Place Park with wild swimming, cafe and bars.
I'd love it if you could tell me about yourself with a profile, preferably with a few photos. It helps me see whether or not the house would be right for you & vice versa. The photo is as much for my security than anything else.
All bills are included except for the energy.
I had a new more energy efficient gas boiler and some double glazing installed last summer. We split the monthly bill equally five ways. The energy should average about £50 per month over the year. You'd be able to see how much is being used on the smart meter reader, and I share the bill from Octupus, my provider. Feel free to ask me for any bills if you need reassurance now.
We often share in the purchase of common food items, the laundry detergents and loo rolls etc., but that's as you wish.
I like to try to find sociable, considerate and friendly people who'll get on together and take care of the house an make it their home too.
I like to keep the air in the house fresh and free of smells such as vapes, incense, and strongly scented products such as perfumes, detergents, aftershave etc. I'm actually a bit allergic to some of them.
The loo is separate from the bathroom, which makes both much more available than if they were in the same room. It happens to be more hygenic too, as flushing produces aerosols containing something that rhymes with loo. As we're all sharing, they have to be kept very clean by all of us.
The toilet needs to be kept very clean to keep everyone happy.
I may consider having a dog in the garden bedroom, but I'm allergic to cats.
Amenities
The house has a washing machine, dishwasher, super fast fibre-to-the-house broadband, a central vacuum cleaner system, and a long outdoor clothes line in the back garden.
A little about me
I'm a humanist / scientist (by education) with a passion for the natural world and all things human too. I was a software developer and may be again if I find as suitable project, but for now I'm doing other things.
I enjoy social and solitary time, and respect others' needs for space.
I don't do any drugs save for small amounts of caffiene and alcohol. I cycle a fair bit and love to be outdoors.
Transport links
The area is very well served by frequent overground trains into central London and beyond, and the nearest bus stop is only 4 mins walk away (on a parallel street, so no bus noise in the house).
Trains
Bellingham is about a 15 minute walk, and Catford and Hither Green both take about 25 mins.
Fast train times from:
Bellingham Thameslink: to
St Pancras & King's Cross takes 35 minutes.
Hither Green to:
London Bridge 10 minutes, Waterloo East 16, and Charing Cross 23.
Catford Bridge to:
London Bridge 11 minutes, and Charing Cross 19.
Buses
The nearest stop is for the 124 to Catford and is about a four minute walk.
There are stops with a lot more buses about eight mins further on.
Cycling
Cycling makes getting around town really easy, especially if you take the train too. There are lots of low traffic routes available now.
A gentle cycle to Westminster takes about an hour. You can do it on main roads in about 40 mins if you want to, but for me the quieter route feels quicker as it's also relaxing.
