🚨 2 Rooms Available in Our Clapham North House 🚨
Sadly, after a brilliant year together, we’re saying goodbye to two of our housemates as they’re both moving in with their partners. They’ve been a huge part of the house and definitely leave some big boots to fill!
So, SpareRoom, we’re back! And looking for two new housemates to join what we genuinely think is one of the best houses in South London.
If you’re looking for somewhere that feels more like a home than a house share, keep reading 👇
📅 Move-in: 20th September
📍 Location
Pretty hard to beat:
• ~5-minute walk to Clapham North Underground (and, more importantly, the rightful local pub)
• ~5-minute walk to Stockwell Underground
• ~5-minute walk to the local Sainsbury’s for the inevitable “anyone need anything?” shop
• Walking distance to Clapham High Street & Brixton
• Pubs, cafés, restaurants and gyms everywhere you look
• Easy access into Central London
And after a year here, we can confirm: we got very lucky.
📸 The photos/videos are a mixture of when we first moved in and what the house looks like now that it’s fully furnished and lived in.
🏡 The House? Massive.
No exaggeration – the amount of communal space is one of the reasons we fell in love with the place.
The entire ground floor is basically one big social playground:
• Two connected reception rooms up front with bean bags, large sofas, TV and dimmable lighting for a proper movie night
• A dedicated vinyl listening area with turntables
• A large open kitchen made for Sunday roasts
• A long dining hall (hellooo board games & wine) that has seen its fair share of dinner parties
• A private south-facing garden – an absolute sun trap – full of chairs and loungers
• A shed full of potential (work-from-home office 👀)
There’s roughly 920 sq ft of shared space – and that’s just downstairs, with another three floors to go.
Elsewhere, we’ve got:
• Each bedroom comes with a bed, mattress and large built-in wardrobe, with plenty of storage
• Aside from the top-floor en-suite, there are 2 shared bathrooms and 3 toilets between the remaining 5 rooms, so morning traffic is never too painful
• A separate laundry room (washing machines don’t belong in kitchens)
• And even a cellar for all the extra stuff you don’t want to look at again until 2027
When we first moved in, the place was essentially a blank canvas. We successfully sweet-talked our way into getting beds, mattresses, sofas and a dining table thrown in, then spent the last year turning the rest into an actual home with all the important stuff.
So, unlike us a year ago, you won’t be moving into an empty palace wondering who owns a screwdriver.
👪 Who You’ll Be Living With
We’re four mates who met at Swansea Uni over seven years ago and, despite every opportunity to drift apart, still haven’t managed to shake each other off – which we’re taking as a good sign.
We’re 26–30, all full-time young professionals working across software engineering, business development, cyber security and the Civil Service.
Outside of work, we’re a pretty active and social bunch – plenty of travelling, sport, gym, running, music, cooking, pubs, unplanned nights out and random London adventures.
A little about the remaining four:
🏊 George – The fitness fanatic. If he’s not at work, he’s probably training for his next Ironman or convincing himself another endurance event is a good idea.
🎧 Ceiron – The resident vinyl enthusiast. His collection covers everything from ’70s disco and funk to modern house, and the turntables get plenty of use.
🏉 Ed – The sports and movie encyclopaedia. Rugby, football, cricket – you name it. Always up for watching a game, heading to the pub or recommending a film.
👨🍳 Amin – The house chef. Loves hosting dinner parties and is happiest experimenting with something new in the kitchen.
🍻 The House Vibe
This isn’t really a house where six people disappear into their bedrooms and occasionally acknowledge each other in the kitchen.
We all have our own friends, hobbies and lives, but we genuinely enjoy hanging out together too.
Expect a healthy mixture of:
🎲 Board game nights
🎬 Movie nights
🍻 Pub trips & nights out
🍽️ House dinners & dinner parties
☀️ Garden drinks & BBQs
🏉 Watching whatever sport happens to be on
🎶 Music nights around the turntables
🛋️ And plenty of completely unplanned evenings hanging out in the house
The two girls leaving have been a massive part of that, so we’d love to find people who want to continue the same dynamic.
We’re ideally looking for two girls to continue the dynamic we’ve had over the past year, but most importantly, we’re looking for people who are friendly, sociable, easy-going and actually want to be part of the home rather than simply rent a room.
You absolutely don’t need to be involved in everything – everyone enjoys their own space – but if you’re looking for somewhere where your housemates can become your mates too, you’ll probably fit in very well.
