River-view double room in bright Clapton flat
I have a bright, good-sized double room – with its own bathroom and views of the River Lea and Walthamstow Marshes – for rent in a lovely two-bedroom flat in a new-build in Clapton.
The room, which has floor-to-ceiling windows, is £800 inclusive of all bills except electricity. It’s available from April 2 and you would be sharing the flat with one other person (me☺).
As we are in lockdown, virtual viewings will be prioritised. However, in-person viewings are an option too, particularly if you think you might want to take the room.
The room is furnished and comes with a double bed, wardrobe and chest of drawers (neither of the small desks seen in the photos come with the room) – as well as its own spacious bathroom, which you would be the only one to use.
The flat has a large balcony, an airy and spacious living room that also has floor-to-ceiling windows, and a modern open-plan kitchen.
It is a 7-10-minute walk from Clapton train station, where trains take you to Liverpool Street in 12 minutes.
Hackney Central and Dalston Junction are a 15-minute bus ride away, with Lea Bridge Station 10-minutes away on the bus.
Buses from Lea Bridge Road (a three-minute walk) include 55, 56 and N38, going to locations such as Dalston Junction, Hackney Central, Walthamstow, Piccadilly Circus and Victoria.
The flat also comes with parking, and I don’t drive, so if you have a car you are welcome to use the parking space.
Clapton is a great part of Hackney, with lots of cafés and restaurants, close to areas like Dalston and London Fields and walking distance from Chatsworth Road with its coffee shops, delis and vintage furniture shops.
With the river path and the marshes on our doorstep, it’s also perfect if you’re into running or cycling – or for lockdown walks!
The deposit is one month’s rent. Smokers are welcome as long as you don’t smoke in the flat.
A bit about me: I’m a journalist and editor in my late 30s. At the moment I am, like most people, working from home, but I would normally be office-based.
When I’m not working, I like travelling (in non-COVID-19 times), doing yoga, browsing markets, meeting friends for well, any kind of food going really, reading, watching films and going to exhibitions. And I also love spending time in my lovely flat☺.
I am a complete coffee addict and the odd glass of wine/champagne/prosecco is not bad either.
