Double Room in Creative Dalston Flat — Ideal for UAL Student
I’m looking for a friendly, considerate and creative person to share my flat in Dalston, ideally a student — and especially someone studying at UAL. The room would be a great fit for someone who wants a comfortable home while being close to London’s creative, fashion and cultural scene.
The room
The room is a spacious, bright double bedroom with a large upholstered velvet bed frame and headboard, a double bed, and plenty of built-in wardrobe storage. There’s a large window bringing in lots of natural light, with views towards the colourful greenery outside, as well as curtains for privacy.
There is also a large fitted wardrobe running along one side of the room, so there is plenty of storage for clothes, shoes and all the things that come with student life — particularly useful if you’re studying fashion!
The flat itself has a relaxed, lived-in character rather than feeling like a generic student flat. There are plants, artwork and personal touches throughout, and lots of natural light.
The flat & kitchen
The kitchen is a generous shared space with plenty of cupboards and worktop space, a full-size oven and hob, sink and plenty of room for cooking and keeping your things. There is also a dining area with a round table, making it a nice space to eat together or have friends over.
The kitchen has a slightly vintage feel, with cream shaker-style cabinets, patterned tiled flooring and a woven rug. There is good storage and room for all the usual kitchen appliances and essentials.
The bathroom
The bathroom is a good-sized shared bathroom with a full-size bathtub and shower, traditional-style fixtures, a large ceramic sink and patterned decorative floor tiles. There is a window providing natural light, and plenty of shelving/storage for toiletries.
About the flatmate
I’m a fashion student at Central Saint Martins, currently in my final year. I’m very creative and interested in fashion, art, design, music and London’s wider creative scene. I’m looking for someone who is similarly open-minded, respectful and creative, and who wants the flat to feel like a home rather than simply somewhere to sleep.
There are also two cats living in the flat 🐈🐈, so you’ll need to be comfortable living with cats. They’re part of the household and bring plenty of personality to the place!
I’m looking for someone who is clean and considerate with shared spaces, communicative and happy to have a friendly relationship with their flatmate, while also respecting each other’s privacy and personal space.
Dalston
The flat is located in Dalston, which is one of the best areas of East London for someone studying or working in the creative industries. It has a really vibrant mix of independent shops, vintage stores, cafés, galleries, restaurants, bars, music venues and creative studios, and there is always something happening.
For a fashion or arts student, it’s particularly convenient because you’re surrounded by people working across fashion, photography, art, music and design. Shoreditch, Hackney, London Fields and Hoxton are all nearby, while Central London and the UAL campuses are straightforward to reach by public transport.
Dalston also has a great balance between being lively and still feeling like a neighbourhood. You can easily find somewhere to grab coffee, work on a laptop, browse vintage shops, meet friends, go out in the evening or just walk around and find inspiration.
Rent & bills
£1,040 per month + bills
The rent is £1,040 plus bills per person, so we will pay equally half of the rent. The room is available to someone looking for a comfortable long-term home in a creative part of London.
If you’re a UAL student, fashion/arts/design student, or simply someone who feels at home in a creative environment and thinks the flat could be a good fit, I’d love to hear from you.
