Available from 25 November | £1,500 pcm incl. bills | Minimum four months, six preferred
I'm subletting my large, south-facing bedroom in a beautifully decorated flat in sought-after De Beauvoir while I'm away.
Set within a particularly tranquil pedestrian and cycling village on the Islington/Hackney border, the flat is within easy walking distance of the canal.
With a local pub and cafés on the doorstep, a gorgeous deli, a local whole foods shop, an authentic pizza restaurant and plenty of lovely places to eat and drink within five minutes, it's a quiet little pocket right in the heart of the action.
The apartment is in a secure building on the first floor, with plenty of natural light and views over a quaint, quiet street. There's a comfortable shared living room, a communal balcony with space to sit outside, and a tiny but well-equipped kitchen, with everything handy to reach. There's also a washing machine, drying rack, shared shower room and bicycle locking points in the courtyard.
The bedroom is the larger of the two, fully furnished with a double bed, plenty of storage and a blackout blind, with space above the wardrobe and under the bed for suitcases. My personal belongings will be removed. If you'd like to keep some of the decorative pieces, you're welcome to.
If you're arriving with just your suitcases, I can also leave bedding, pillows, a duvet and towels. The pillows and duvet would need to be professionally dry cleaned at the end of your stay, at your expense. I know a very good, very reasonably priced cleaner and am happy to recommend them.
You’ll be sharing with just one other person, James, 36, who works in film at Lionsgate. He loves to cook and keeps the kitchen spotless, even washing up a single mug. He’s into all sorts of music, is a movie buff, polite and considerate, and very easy to share with.
The flat is within easy walking distance of Haggerston, Hoxton, Shoreditch, Dalston, Stoke Newington, London Fields, Broadway Market and Angel, and I prefer to walk to Broadway Market or Angel along the canal. Haggerston, Canonbury, Dalston Junction, Dalston Kingsland and Essex Road stations are all within a 10-15-minute walk, with Haggerston and Canonbury the closest. Essex Road is National Rail, for Moorgate. Two bus routes stop right on the other side of the building, going to Old Street, Moorgate, Bank, St Paul's, London Bridge and Waterloo. There are lots more buses on Kingsland Road, going south to Shoreditch and Liverpool Street, and on Essex Road, going via Angel to King's Cross, St Pancras, Soho and Oxford Circus.
Ideally looking for a female professional who works outside the home. Someone who knows and appreciates the area would be lovely. The room is for one person only. No pets, no parties and no smoking indoors, as this is a quiet residential building.
Available for a minimum of four months, ideally six, with the length of stay agreed in advance. My return date is flexible, so a little longer may be possible if it suits us both. £1,500 per month incl. all household bills and Wi-Fi (energy fair-use capped), with a £1,500 deposit.. A cleaner could be arranged, with the cost shared separately between you and James. References required.
Please get in touch if you're looking for a beautiful flat in a gorgeous London village. Tell us a little about yourself and the dates you're looking for, and we can arrange a viewing and a chance to meet James.
