Beautiful Room in Maverick Victorian House

the room (1st floor)

Large double room, bright, with enough room to swing a cat and then some, overlooking the neighbourhood, our garden and the local park. Located in a spacious warehouse style Victorian conversion equidistant from Canada WaterTube and Deptford High Street, with easy access to DLR, overground, Thames clipper, buses or a cycling route. There is enough space to park a bike in the back and a tiny bit of extra room in the cellar ( no need to live with a suitcase in the room). There is one big bathroom (not en-suite) and two toilets. The house style has a designed, spacious, clean and gallery-like feel with an eclectic, well-loved edge. Gyms, Yoga studios, cafes restaurants and shops are all in walking distance.

We are an unconventional, mixed race, multi-lingual, friendly and fun London queer family with 2 kids and a ginger cat. We have established professional careers in art /academic research and sustainable fashion. Our family life is busy, mostly sorted and social. We are not looking for live-in childcare and there is enough space to withdraw. We are interested in our research fields, politics, environmentalism, literature and documentaries.

We would love to continue sharing our house with a friendly, easygoing cis-female, gay/queer or non-binary flatmate. Our last flatmate stayed three years and we still get on. They have to move for work. We are looking either for an organised full-time student/doctoral/ post-doc researcher or a full-time professional who works in an office/studio or external desk space for the majority of the week, and who is looking to stay for at least a year. Rent is steady, includes all bills such as Council Tax and broadband.
