Bright double room available in a spacious, split-level three bedroom flat. The flat is located in East Dulwich and close to Peckham Rye, Brixton, Camberwell and well connected to London Bridge by train (13 mins). It is well connected by bus, train and overground, and near a variety of shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars. It’s also a 15 minute walk from Dulwich Park and Peckham Rye, and a 30 minute walk to Brockwell Park.
THE ROOM:
The room comes partly furnished with built-in shelving and a hanging rail. So most of the essentials are covered but you will need a bed. Beyond that there’s lots of scope to make it your own. The room has one large window which is south facing so gets lots of sunshine.
Rent is £650 pcm and bills currently come to about £130 each pcm. Please note the deposit is £769 (not £750).
THE FLATMATES:
Hey, I’m Claude (he/him). I’m 29 and a civil servant working in central London. My work currently is hybrid so I spend roughly half the week in the office and half the week working from home. I really value having a house that feels like a home (plants & art very welcome!). I love sports, music, film, travelling, coffee and food and I’m looking for someone that is keen on any of those. Bonus points if you love trying new foods! Keen to have someone light, easygoing, clean and tidy to join our little home in East Dulwich to round out our trio.
Hey, I’m Charlotte (she/her). I’m a 24 y/o ecologist which means I spend a fair bit of time travelling and in hotels visiting sites during the week! I love art, nature, festivals, birdwatching, hiking, pubs, reading and cheeky nights out. And I’m always keen to make new friends. I would get on well with someone who is sociable and relaxed, queer/ally, ok with others having guests over (for sleepovers, pres and occasional parties) and adds a nice buzz on the weekend (I’m thinking BBQs in the summer 😎) but also respects others’ working hours. Also clean and tidy would be great!
THE FLAT:
The flat is spacious, bright and cosy. It’s located on a safe and friendly road with plenty of free parking and is fully double-glazed throughout. The ground floor contains the kitchen, separate living room, downstairs loo, and a very spacious hallway. The kitchen has lots of storage, a gas oven and hob, a fridge/freezer, and a washing machine. The living room is bright with two sofas, lots of books (with room for many more!), a TV and a fireplace. As the flat is split-level, the three bedrooms and main bathroom (with a bath and shower) is located upstairs. We are also really lucky to have a front and back garden. The back garden has lots of green space, decking, a lockable shed where we keep our bikes, and plenty of room for plant pots and flowers. Our lovely ex-housemate has sadly taken most of her plants with her so there’s lots of prime real estate available for some new green friends to move in!
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD:
East Dulwich is a great balance of chilled out, friendly, and (let’s be honest) bougie. There are more cosy pubs and cafes than you can shake a stick at, a Picture House cinema, several libraries and gyms nearby, and a lovely Saturday market. We’re a 15 min walk to Dulwich Park and a 20 min walk to Peckham Rye Park, two gorgeous green spaces. Transport-wise there are lots of buses that go from the main road (Lordship Lane) into central, the train from East Dulwich station will get you to London Bridge in 13 mins, and there are nearby Overground stations at Peckham Rye, Queens Rd Peckham, Denmark Hill and Forest Hill.
ACCESSIBILITY
The house is down four steps from street level. Inside, the flat is split-level so the bedrooms and main bathroom are up a flight of 14 stairs.
