Home Sweet Home - Female, Prof Househare

Ad ref# 2003251

Hi there!

I’m looking for a 30+ female professional / mature student to join me in my comfy houseshare in East Dulwich with its own garden.

This is a happy home ~ somewhere that you can call your sanctuary.

Suited to a person who is “house trained” and looking for a home, as opposed to just a room to rent. A good mix of being open to catching up with a cup of tea / glass of vino / chilling in the lounge watching TV when the mood suits and respecting any needs for alone time / own space and privacy.

It’s important that any future housemate is onboard with keeping the house a nice place to live (clean and tidy living areas, shared cleaning duties, awareness of noise levels and the old adage of mutual consideration). Of course you can expect the same from me!

I am a 43 year old South African, who has been living in London for 15+ years. I work in finance in the City. An introvert at heart but a perfectly friendly one! :) Life and work are pretty busy. My home is where I relax and unwind. My party days are behind me - I’m still social but mostly out of the house, with the occasional friend over for dinner / coffee / watch a movie. My weekdays are usually pretty quiet after work, typically spent getting fresh air and exercise, cooking and watching TV / enjoying some downtime. ( I must confess now days I am a “in bed by 10.30 on a school night” kind of girl). In my free time I enjoy socialising with friends, hiking, walking, reading, eating out and getting into a good series.

Area - East Dulwich is know for being a lovely area. It is leafy and green with a village-y type feel to it. Great cafes / restaurants / bars, independent shops and cinema. Safe area with parks nearby (Dulwich Park & Peckham Rye). Convenient transport links with quick access to Victoria, London Bridge and Clapham Junction.

East Dulwich Rail provides a 15 min journey to London Bridge. Denmark Hill, Forest Hill and Peckham Rye stations are a short bus ride away. Main bus routes are 176 to Tottenham Court Road, 185 to Victoria and 40 to Aldgate. Brixton tube station is a 15 min bus journey away.

Property - the house is located on a quiet residential road, conveniently close to Lordship Lane. An ideal location - short (and pleasant) walk to nearby transport, all the delights of Lordship Lane and anything else you could possibly need (M&S Foodhall and Coop 5 mins away. Large Sainsbury’s 15 mins walk).

About the house:
- 3 bedrooms but currently 2 are rented by myself (one as a bedroom, one as a home office - hybrid worker and studying part time) so you will only be sharing the house with one other - me! ;)
- light, bright and airy home.
- lovely warm sunny kitchen overlooking a cute garden.
- separate, decent sized lounge.
- large bathroom with bath and shower (above bath).
- separate guest loo downstairs.
- small box room (that is not rented out) used as a store room for bulky items (suitcases, coats etc) and a handy place to dry washing out of the way.
- safe area, lovely neighbours and private landlord who genuinely cares that his tenants are happy.
- equipped with broadband and Sky.
- a bike could be kept outside in the secure garden.
- kitchen has a washing machine, 2 fridge freezers (one each) and a gas oven/grill/hob.
- kitchen also has a table that can be used as a desk space when working from home.
- yes, the decor is dated and is certainly not going to win any design awards but the house has a lovely homely feel to it and makes up for it in spaciousness and the very reasonable rent.
- unfortunately not suitable for pets. :(

About the room:
Standard size double on the ground floor. Furnished with double bed with under bed storage (drawers), built-in and free standing cupboards and drawers.

You?

- female, 30 or older.

- employed professional, with standard work hours preferable. Mature students with proof of funds also considered.

- considerate, with common sense and respectful of property and belongings.

- a person, who appreciates a calm, harmonious environment.

- non-smoker / vaper.

- can provide references.

- and most importantly, looking for a place you can call home.

If this sounds like you, and the type of home you’d enjoy living in, please get in touch. Please note that I am only interested in enquiries from people who have their own profiles.

Looking forward to hearing from you and happy house hunting!
