I am looking for a friendly sociable (non-smoking) graduate / professional creative house sharer into the arts/ photography, music and nature. Possibly someone with a non-shedding dog 🐶 !
We are 5 mins to East Finchley tube station. The house is 2 mins to the local shops & bus stops and only 20 mins to the West End.
We're very close to the pubs/ restaurants of East Finchley, to the Phoenix Cinema and to Cherry Tree Park, Coldfall Wood, & Highgate Wood.
The house is a 5 minutes cycle ride to Muswell Hill and to Highgate Wood. There's a Yoga centre next door. East Finchley is 300ft (100m) above the pollution of west and central London, the air up here is relatively clean at times.
N2 is full of parks, woods and close to Highgate Wood, Parkwalk, Alexandra Palace park and to Hampstead Heath & the Heath extension.
I'm looking for a friendly, sociable person who enjoys meeting new people, likes to share a meal, or is keen to help out in the garden and is interested in some of the following, the arts/ photography, creative writing, movies, going to gigs, getting out into nature, cycling, skiing, gardening, dogs , hiking.
I enjoy going hiking every week when its dry, going to art & photography exhibitions and gigs, comedy nights, supporting the Everyman and Phoenix cinema, Oxfam bookshop and others and visiting new places, travelling. I worked in IT and marketing , but more recently I host travellers, students and professionals in my house and I also do creative writing and teach English conversation online.
We have Quiz nights/ jazz nights at the Bald Faced Stag, great free gigs at Maddens on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays, Open mic 🎤 at the Old White Lion in East Finchley, Jazz and Brazilian music at the Woodman in Highgate and DJ nights and lively (!) gigs at the Boogaloo in Highgate.
The house has a kitchen/dinner, a living room, bathroom, a separate toilet, a utility room with a washing machine, a patio, and a garden with a clothes line and many plants to be planted. I may have a spare bicycle for your use.
The rent is inclusive of bills, apart from a contribution of £50 (single room) / £70 a month in the five autumn & winter months towards the gas & electric bill.
I have completed several creative writing courses, writing about the oceans & wildlife and also drafting a natural science book, and I occasionally work on freelance marketing contracts or charity work and I would like to work on sustainability projects, though most seem to be corporate 'greenspin', creative invention and greenwash lol !
Anyway, if you have skipped to the end..
I also volunteer regularly at a charity, and I have supported /worked with numerous charities and NGOs. I hope that everyone will want to help charities, homeless/ or NGOs at some time in their career, or plant trees , wildflowers .
