MORE PHOTOS COMING SHORTLY. I am currently redecorating the room and then I will add some new photos including the furniture.
My spare bedroom is available in a lovely 2-bed flat in East Sheen. It is about a 1-minute walk from Mortlake station, so quick and easy connections to Richmond, Clapham, Waterloo, and more. Available from the beginning of April, but there's some flexibility on that.
The flat is above a bakery (dangerous, I know) and comprises two bedrooms, a shared bathroom, living/dining room, and separate kitchen. I have just finished having the kitchen completely renovated and am currently redecorating the spare room - so it will be freshly done for you.
The bedroom is furnished, including a small double (130cm width), desk and chair, and bookcase. I will also purchase a wardrobe for it, so you could have some say on what type you would prefer (but wouldn't be expected to pay anything).
If you aren't familiar with the area, East Sheen is lovely! Has a great selection of independent cafes, shops, bars, and restaurants. It's also a short walk from the flat to Richmond Park in one direction and the river path in the other.
My understanding is that parking is available with a residents' permit, which you would have to arrange with Richmond council if needed.
The council tax band is C with Richmond Upon Thames. Please note that I am currently exempt from this as I am classed as a student (doing an additional postgrad on the side), so you would be responsible for paying this if you are not also exempt. I will be paying again from summer so we would then start splitting the higher bill.
The rent is £700/month excluding all bills. I would expect bills to come to £200-250/month (not including council tax), which we would split down the middle. So I guess somewhere in the region of £900 all in.
Finally, a little about me. I'm a legal academic, so you can expect the flat to be full of books. I work from home about half the week, and am usually out a few evenings a week. I like to keep the flat clean and tidy, so if you're quite messy it probably won't work. Big fan of the theatre, pub quizzes, and going on the occasional hike - so if any of those match your interests that's great. I want to live someone I can actually get on with, so if you are the type who stays in their bedroom all the time and doesn't talk then it won't work. Obviously we'd have our own lives, but it would be nice to occasionally hang out for the evening.
