Double room + private bathroom near Kennington – £1,450 all-inclusive

Hi, I'm Mirko. I've got a double room available from 1 November in my flat in SE17, about 10 minutes' walk from Kennington station and 15 from Elephant & Castle.

It's a 3-bed flat, although it would just be the two of us. I use the third bedroom as my office/guest room.

The room is furnished with a double bed, big wardrobe, plenty of storage, desk, chair and monitor. You'd also have your own bathroom, so you wouldn't be sharing it with me. It's recently been refurbished and has a walk-in shower.

The living room has a large corner sofa, 65" OLED TV, Apple TV and a good sound system. There's a large kitchen with plenty of cupboard space and modern appliances.

Internet is symmetrical 1 Gbps fibre, with Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet in every room. I work from home myself, so the flat is set up well for someone who does the same.

There's also a garage where you can keep a bike.

A cleaner comes regularly, and that's included in the rent too.

Rent is £1,450 a month including all bills and the regular cleaner.

The flat looks out onto a quiet green area with trees, which is one of the things I really like about living here. Walworth Road is just around the corner, so you've got supermarkets, cafés, gyms, pharmacies, takeaways and loads of buses nearby.

A bit about me: I'm gay and work as a data engineer. I have a PhD in Computer Science and mostly work from home. I'm pretty sociable and have friends over occasionally, but home is generally quiet. I'm a bit of a film nerd, which probably explains the 65" OLED and sound system. The living room is great for film nights, so if you're into films too, even better. And if not, I'm always happy to make a few good recommendations. I'm also into the gym, travelling and seeing friends.

I've had really good experiences with previous flatmates and I'm hoping to find that again. I like living with someone I can actually have a chat with rather than us just being two strangers in the same flat. At the same time, I definitely like my own space too.

I'm looking for one male professional in stable work. I'd like someone friendly, clean and considerate who treats the flat as their home as well.

I'm gay and I've lived with both straight and gay flatmates before, with equally good experiences, so sexuality really isn't important to me. What matters is that we get on and have a similar way of living.
