I'm saying goodbye to this lovely room and looking for someone to take it over.
The room itself is undeniably on the smaller side, but it's got a lot going for it. The best thing about it is the window, which gets the light in the morning (see pics) and looks out onto trees in park next to the building. The foliage makes it private but it still gets full sunlight, and there's woodpeckers that live in the trees that you can see on occasion, it's really great. The double bed is raised so there's plenty of storage space under it, which makes a huge difference. There's also a built in hanging rail in the corner, and the IKEA white storage boxes, which will be staying if you want them. (There's a bulky rubbish site just next to the flat, so getting rid of furniture, or picking up bits that people chuck out, is super easy!). The main drawback is the width of the room is exactly a double mattress length (6ft3), so with the bed in the orientation I've got it you might be a bit snug if you're a tall (I'm 5ft11 and have no trouble though).
The room is £700 pcm, and all bills and utilities come to ~£130 for us, so £830 all in.
About the rest of the flat:
It's a 3 bedroom flat on two levels, with the bedrooms and the bathroom upstairs and the large living room and kitchen and hallway downstairs. The current tenant is Dominic who is a gardener. The other room is also up for grabs at the moment (I'm not allowed to link so search "Bright large double in Finsbury Park" to find it), good if you're looking with a friend. There's also plenty of storage in cupboards around the flat. The landlords/agency are fine with cats too! There are two security doors on the way in and flat is accessed from ground level by two flights of stairs. The neighbours chill and quiet but friendly.
About the area:
Really close to crouch hill overground with links to Gospel Oak and Barking (3 mins from flat to platform if you run, as I have done too many times). It's also 20 minute walk or 5 minute bus to Finsbury Park station down Stroud Green rd, which has lots of good shops and restaurants. This includes a big Tesco 10 mins walk from the flat, which is handy. Archway also about 25 minute walk away for the northern line. Crouch End is also 20 mins walk away - I'd recommend Dunns bakery there, and there's a string of 7 charity shops in a row that are very fruitful in my experience. The flat is also just by an entrance to the parkland walk, which is a disused railway line that's now a walking track, that is just really lovely to stroll down.
