An older lady is seeking a Sharer for her home to offer a little practical help and company each week in exchange for the low-cost accommodation.
She likes to be as independent as possible, but would value the friendly reassurance of someone in her home overnight. She would also like some general practical help around the home such as picking up shopping, cooking up to four meals each week, sharing some meals, light cleaning and tidying, unloading the dishwasher, carrying heavier items, and ad hoc practical help and errands as may be needed. The lady has a cat, and the Sharer would also be responsible feeding the cat when she is away, including over the summer.
The accommodation on offer is a furnished double bedroom, shared use of the shower room and bathroom, and kitchen.
The property is conveniently located just 12 minutes’ walk from Manor House Station (Picadilly Line) and 15 minutes’ walk from Finsbury Park Station (Picadilly and Victoria lines, many buses, Thames Linke and National Rail – Great Northern Line).
The lady is an artist (still practising). She reads The Guardian, watching TV programmes (Channel 4, Eastenders), enjoys crosswords, visiting art galleries and going to her studio. She has a good circle of friends, family and neighbours. She enjoys healthy, organic Mediterranean dishes and spends time in Spain.
As a Sharer you are free to work or study as long as you have enough spare time (up to 15 hours per week in a mix of up to 10 hours of practical help, plus a little company) to give the agreed level of company and support.
The ideal Sharer will have an interest in Art, be a driver with own care and be a positive, friendly, kind, helpful and reliable non-smoker who ideally shares some of the lady’s interests. If a Sharer has a driving licence, there might be the possibility of adding them to the lady’s car insurance to drive the lady on occasions (eg shopping or to her studio) as well as the potential for some agreed personal use.
Please note that there will be another lodger in a second spare bedroom in the property who will be paying rent and therefore not have support obligations.
If you are interested, please tell us a little information about yourself, your hours of availability, why you are interested in, and think you may be suitable for, this share. We can then give you more details about this specific situation.
