Bright & Spacious Double Room with Friendly Cat in Forest Hill / Honor Oak Park – £950 Including all bills & council tax.
Available from 15 October (Flexible) – 6-month minimum preferred.
I have a friendly indoor cat Thomas who will need occasional access to the sun in your room!
It is a large fully furnished room 3.3m x 4.5m (10'10" x 14'8") with a comfortable double bed with storage underneath, chest of drawers, side table, double oak wardrobe, large desk and office chair.
It gets lots of natural light and is a really pleasant room to spend time in. The view from the window is very green and relaxing. It has a Juliette balcony, which can be fully opened up.
The current tenant has been living here for around 7 years now. He absolutely loves it here but is leaving to start a new job in Switzerland.
The Flat
The flat is the top floor of a 2-floor Victorian property. There are 2 other flats below on the ground floor. The neighbours are very quiet and responsible.
There’s lots of space and some original features, including:
• Spacious sitting room with comfortable sofas and dining table
• High ceilings & fireplace in the sitting room
• Well-equipped separate kitchen with large fridge / freezer, oven, hob & washing machine
• All cooking equipment, crockery etc. provided but happy to pack some away if you also have kitchen items
• Bathroom with good shower pressure
• Fast fibre WiFi with extenders for good coverage throughout the flat
• Smart TV with Netflix
There is a Garden shared with one other flat, with small vegetable patch. I am currently changing it over from grass to clover / wild flowers!
The area has many large parks and hilltop viewing points. The walk to the Sainsburys Superstore on the Greenlink Walk along the rivers is particularly nice.
There is a parking space on the property but it would be preferable to use the free parking on the neighbouring streets.
Transport & Location
The flat is very well connected. There are 4 Stations within 15 minutes’ walk: Honor Oak Park, Forest Hill, Catford & Catford Bridge. Lewisham DLR is a 25 minute bus ride.
There are two buses that stop 2 minutes from the flat – 185 to Victoria / Lewisham Station and 171/N171 to Elephant & Castle.
The flat is in Zone 3 but it is possible to take a short bus ride to Brockley Station in Zone 2.
The local area has corner shops, gyms, cafes, food stalls and many good restaurants. There is a medical centre & pharmacy close by. The local pub Blythe Hill Tavern has been voted in the top 10 pubs in London for several years. It is a great place to stop in for a relaxing drink and has a huge beer garden.
A Bit About Me
I’m a friendly 51-year-old, very young at heart. I enjoy exploring London, coffee, pubs, reading, walking, restaurants, gigs and generally getting out and about.
I am an avid traveller and will be out of the country a fair amount so you will have to the place to yourself most of the time.
I’m ideally looking for a mature, friendly and self-sufficient person who:
• Is a Non-smoker
• Likes cats
• Is happy to live on their own for part of the year (I can provide a catsitter if necessary)
• Doesn’t regularly have lots of visitors / relatives staying
