Hello there and welcome to our lovely little home in Forest Hill.
The vibe:
We are a caring and supportive group of people who are there for each other through life's twists and turns. We're sociable and enjoy hanging out for dinners, watching TV, chatting about deep stuff or playing games and being silly.
We're hoping to find someone who wants to get involved in all of the above but who also wants their home to be a place of calm, where everyone respects each other’s space. Due
to work and health reasons the flat generally stays quiet from around 11pm to 11am. That being said we love our night life but this primarily takes place outside of the home which stays a nice sanctuary.
We're open to people from all walks of life, liberal-minded and LGBTQ+ and global majority friendly.
Your room:
Your bedroom comes either with a bedframe and/or large cupboard or unfurnished if you prefer. You have a beautiful view of Sydenham Hill Woods and the room is West facing so
you get the sunset every evening. It's a decent sized room that can accommodate a desk if you're working from home and the landlord is flexible within reason if you wanted to change the colour of the walls to a brighter colour.
The Flat and Local Area:
There are 4 bedrooms, an open-plan living room and dining room with small balcony overlooking the woods, a fairly compact but well-kitted out kitchen, bathroom with both bath
and shower with good pressure and a separate toilet. We have a good relationship with our landlord who is quick to respond when problems are reported. All bills are included in your rent and there is no problem staying warm in winter.
We live on the 4th floor of a block of flats (accessed by stairs or lift) next to Sydenham Hill Woods. The estate is a 10 minute brisk walk to the overground station on the Windrush Line and the area is very well served by bus networks.
We're lucky to be able to call Sydenham Hill Woods our back garden, we're a 5 minute walk from the glorious Horniman Museum and just 10 minutes walk away from Forest Hill High
Street that boasts an ever-increasing number of cute independent shops and cafes, The
Sylvan Post Pub and a Better Health gym and swimming pool.
A bit more about us:
Dan, white male 41, works for a homelessness charity, loves hunting for mushrooms in the woods
(there are so many right now!), ambient electronica and therapy chat.
Louise, 38, white female/non-binary, theatre maker and youth worker, lover of music and nature. Recovering from six years of being seriously ill with Long Covid. Neil is my partner and private chef. We’re a considerate relaxed pair who try to be aware of everyone's needs.
Neil, 45, white male, actor, comedian and general silly man. Louise's food butler.
A few things about you:
We are open to interest from all genders but at the moment are particularly welcoming female identifying people and non-binary AFABS to bring some balance. At the current time
we can unfortunately not take any pets in the house and we are also a non-smoking house (don't mind if you're a smoker but just not in the flat even out of the windows or balcony as it blows into our windows!). If you work from home it would also be preferable to do so from your room as one of us often needs to work in the living room.
Please get in touch telling us a bit about yourself and why you'd like to live here. Please note that if we think AI has written your email we will send you the wrong address. (That’s a joke)
