Hey future-flatmate!
I'm going to make this a super detailed ad so you have all the info you need.
This is a short term let as I have just sold the flat, but the process of selling takes a long time, so I won't be packing up any of my stuff until the exchange date, which I estimate will be around 3-5 months from now (though I can't guarnatee these timelines)
I can almost guarantee it'll be 2 months at least (it took 6 months to buy the flat! the process is notoriously slow).
Also a lot of flat sales are falling through at the moment, really hope that's not the case with this one, but you never know, so there's potential it may end up being available a little bit longer.
Deposit is £500, and rent is £850 per month including all bills and extras, so power, gas, water, council tax, broadband + loo roll, and cleaning products.
ABOUT THE ROOM
The room is a smallish double (3.20 X 2.15metres) and comes furnished with a double bed (with v comfy Panda memory foam mattress topper) set of drawers, a large wardrobe with shelf at the top, a little side table thing, a mirror, and black-out blinds, and is that the back of the flat (so nice and cosy for sleeping) and a rug.
ABOUT THE FLAT
The flat is close to central Hackney but it's still really peaceful feeling.
Worth noting as you can probably see from the pics the place is already fairly decked out in terms of furniture and decor etc, so it would suit someone who is looking for a ready-made home to move into for a few months, rather than someone who has lots of household stuff they need to bring with them.
There's not a huge amount of storage in the shared areas unfortunately, though I can store a large suitcase outside of the room if you need, and there's a little bit of space under the bed as well.
ABOUT THE AREA
Well Street shops are a stones throw away which has a Tesco and a post office and a pharmacy and various other small handy shops.
It's a short walk to the glorious Victoria Park, as well as a short walk to Mare Street/London Fields etc.
Transport wise it's less than 10 mins walk to Hackney central and Homerton as well as loads of busses.
ABOUT ME
I'm 42 and work in design, originally from New Zealand though have lived in London 15 years.
I currently WFH most days, if you do too I can work in my office/studio and you take the dining table.
I'm pretty open to the kind of person, though all I ask is that you're friendly, and would class yourself as fairly laid back (like me, I'm a Kiwi so comes with the territory 🥝), I also don't think I could live with anyone that has any views that are super opposed to mine (I'm pretty lefty), though being in east London I like to think is fairly safe for this!
Also I'd class myself as "cleaner than average", so I'm also looking for someone who would also describe themselves as naturally clean and tidy, I'm not uptight about it (sometimes on the weekend it ends up slipping a bit!) just by in large it's fairly "spic and span", just nice for us both to have a happy homely environment to come home to 🏠 .
If this all sounds good, please get in touch and let me know a little bit about yourself, know it feels a bit cringe but does help! And if you can let me know your availability for viewing. I can do viewings evenings of Thursday (24th) and Friday (25th), with move in date Sunday 27th.
I won't go so far as to do background checks but if you could include a link to your LinkedIn maybe, if you have one, just so I have peace of mind you're employed and all that.
Really looking forward to meeting you! :)
