Hi!
I am moving up to Scotland and looking to rent out the room in the flat that I co-own with my brother while it is on the market. The flat has been listed for sale for the last few months, though there has not been much interest during that time, potentially because it is tricky to get a mortgage on. As such, we're looking for a month-to-month tennant as, although unlikely, we may get an offer on the flat. Due to the time it takes to complete a sale, we'd always be able to give a couple of months notice before the deal goes through.
The room is a corner room in a ground floor flat in Landmark Heights in Hackney, right on the doorstep of the Hackney Marshes. It has windows on two sides, and comes fully furnished with bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, desk and side tables.
The three bedrooms are on the ground floor, along with the two toilets, one which has a shower and the other a bath/shower combo. The communal areas are on the first floor.
The flat has very large shared areas, including an open plan living room/dining room and a kitchen/additional living area. There are floor-to-ceiling windows throughout the first floor, making the flat feel bright and warm.
For storage, there is a storage room, as well as a closet, space under the stairs and under the bed.
The building also has a 24hr concierge (handy for taking packages while you're out) and an onsite gym. A parking space is available if we ask, though we haven't had the need so I'm unsure if there'd be a charge associated.
The two other flatmates are both professionals in their early thirties. They are interested in board and video games, leading to the flat having a relaxed atmosphere, in which there are opportunities to socialise but personal space is respected. One flatmate works from home in the living room on Wednesdays.
The flat is situated right by the Hackney Marshes, offering lovely nearby walks through green spaces and along the canal. It's a five minute walk from Chatsworth road, which has a great Sunday market, and a fifteen minute walk to Homerton overground station. The 242 bus route stops right outside the flat, with others a short walk away.
Feel free to get in touch if you're interested!
