I have a lovely, comfortable room overlooking gardens and on a clear sunny day you can see the Shard and canary wharf. When the weather is sunny the room is flooded with light and it's bathed in sunlight. The room is fully furnished: The room is located on the second floor of the property. On the first floor: There is a kitchen and large bathroom which has a window/door giving direct access to the balcony and the garden. The kitchen has a washing machine, gas cooker, microwave and a small dining table and two chairs.
The flat is situated in the vibrant area of upper Holloway and Archway with excellent public transports, shops, supermarkets, restaurants, pubs and parks : Waterloo park, Hampstead heath and the lovely parkland leading to Finsbury Park, 30 minutes walk away from the house.
I will be interested to rent the room initially for three months and then would consider renting longer term 6/12 months and this is subject to both myself and the potential tenant getting along ok. This might suit someone who will be visiting the UK on a short term working contract or undertaking research at a UK university.
I would like to share my house with a tenant who is considerate, quiet, clean, trustworthy, open minded, internationalist, striving for social justice and who does not mind having a pet and sharing with a living-in landlady. I am a quiet, flexible, kind, and helpful person. I also respect people's privacy but I do like chatting occasionally over a cup of coffee. I have had some positive feedback from previous lodgers.
This house is a very quiet house and will not be suitable for someone who is a party lover or wishing to receive lot of guests. Please note that I have a senior female cat who is 18 years old. The cat is a well trained animal and has no access to bedrooms.
I would prefer someone who is more office based then working from home as I am semi-retired and spend much of my time in the house.
The lodger will have access to the kitchen and other communal area. I have a balcony with a table and a garden and the lodger is welcome to use it.
Please note that I travel a bit and the prospective lodger will have the flat to himself/herself.
