We’re looking for a new flatmate for our lovely 3-bed ground floor flat in Homerton :)
The room is the biggest room in the flat, just off the kitchen, and is £700 + bills (approx £100 a month). It comes furnished with a bed/mattress, wardrobe and desk. Lots of storage space and a big window.
The flat is small, modern and functional - we don’t have a living room unfortunately, but there is a small sofa and dining table in the kitchen. We tend to give each other space when cooking and take turns using the kitchen. There’s no garden but there is a communal green space outside, and it’s very close to Hackney Marshes and Victoria Park, which are both amazing places to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
It’s round the corner from Homerton overground station and there are plenty of buses. Really great transport links. There’s a Co-op down the road, Tesco and Lidl nearby, a community cinema and plenty of pubs - plus Chatsworth Road down the street. Hackney Central is closeby and the flat is a really great location, situated on a very family-oriented, chilled housing estate. We’ve never had any issues living here and it’s pretty quiet. There’s also space to keep a bike locked up outside if needed.
You’ll be living with Tyler (29) and Charlie (35). We're both veggie and get on well, but we're usually quite busy with our own schedules, so the room would suit someone who similarly already has their own thing going on, and is looking for a calm, chilled out space to come back to. It's definitely not a party flat and we don't tend to have people round often as there's not much space.
We both really appreciate a clean home and have a cleaning rota for the communal areas (kitchen/bathroom/floors etc) so you would be expected to chip in with keeping things clean and tidy, as well as washing up and putting away dishes etc. If that's not something you're bothered about, then you won't be the right fit.
Tyler is an actor and works as a tour guide at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. He loves theatre, TV, film, art and Shakespeare, and is often out and about with friends.
Charlie is an audio producer and journalist. She likes reading, going to the cinema, dancing, movies, galleries, music gigs, the gym/running/yoga and generally exploring East London.
We’re looking for someone who wants to stay long term and is used to shared living - around the same age, mature, responsible and considerate - ideally someone who we get on well with, and have some shared interests too! We both love arts and culture. Bonus points if you don't work from home :)
The move in date is expected to be some time around the end of June (tbc), and you’ll need to send a deposit to the flatmate who is leaving. We're looking for someone who is in employment, as the landlord requires a reference check. To keep things fair we all manage at least one of the household bills, so you would be expected to take over one if you moved in. Again, if that's not something you're happy with, then please don't get in touch. The rent is payable to one tenant by the 1st of every month, who then sends it to the landlord, as he likes to receive it in one lump sum.
We've previously had issues with rent and bills not being paid on time, so just to reiterate that payments can't be late - we have a really good deal with the landlord, and the flat is very good value for the area.
If you're interested, send us a message with a bit about you, your work, and what you’re looking for in a flatshare, plus your availability and we’ll get back to you ASAP :)
