Looking for someone to take over my previous flatmate's room in a lovely 2-bed flat in Hornsey with shared living areas - ten minutes walk from Turnpike Lane Station (Picadilly Line) and five minutes from Hornsey Station (National Rail).
Room (13 sq m) is available from 1 November. You'll be on the contract with me so it'll be an rolling let allowing you to stay either long-term or short-term. Open to couples and students.
Occupation from late October might be possible if preferred.
Bills are not included but come to around £80-100 per person each month depending on usage (gas, Wi-Fi, electricity, water). Council tax isn't included in the bills but since I'm a full-time student, we would qualify for a full or partial discount, depending on whether you're a student or professional.
About the flat:
The flat is a spacious basement flat with plenty of light. It comes with an open plan fully fitted kitchen and open plan lounge/living room, as well as a large shared bathroom. All shared living areas come furnished but there is still an option for you to add your own touch if you fancy.
The flat itself is non-smoking but there is a shared courtyard with the rest of the building that has a smoking area. It is possible to park/store a bike outside, and car parking is available for a small extra fee (£50 pcm).
About your room:
The room comes with a double bed, built-in shelving, two large wardrobes, and a desk and chair. It is possible to exchange this for you own furniture if you prefer.
About the area:
The flat is located right off Hornsey High St with less than a five minute walk to a Sainsbury's Super Store, Argos, and loads of restaurants and international supermarkets. Within ten-twenty minutes' walk you'll be able to access the centre of Wood Green, Crouch End, or Muswell Hill, giving you plenty of options for shopping, going out, and exploring the local area.
Several local parks are sprinkled across the area, with twenty minutes' by foot to get to Alexandra Palace and twenty minutes with bus to get to Finsbury Park.
Who you'll be living with and what I'm looking for
I'm a full-time, second-year PhD student in archaeology at UCL. I'm from Denmark but studied for my master's in London in 2023 and lived in Ireland and Kenya before returning to London for my PhD last October. I'm quite busy between work/research and hobbies, but I'm fairly sociable and am down for the occasional glass of wine, film/game night, pub trip, or bite of food together. I also have two guitars in the living room you're very welcome to use if you know how to play!
If this sounds like something you could be interested in, do get in touch and I'd love to arrange a viewing!
