We're looking for another gay guy to join us in our spacious, modern home in Kennington, Zone 1.

We have a large double bedroom available in our newly refurbished house which is just 4 minutes walk from Kennington underground station. It's a really lovely big detached house with three bedrooms, spacious kitchen, vast living and dining room; and a nice garden. We keep the third bedroom as a spare room.

Your Room
Your room is a large double room with a king size bed. There's a big window so the room gets plenty of light. You’ll have plenty of storage in wardrobes, under the bed and in chests of drawers - if you do run out, there’s always the loft! You also have a tv point and smart lighting for when you want to create a special ambience!

There’s a desk in your room for days when you may be working from home and there are numerous other comfy spots around the house so you don't need to go stir crazy sitting in your room.

You will have sole use of the main bathroom as we have an en-suite.

You'll get your own fridge/freezer and cupboard space in the kitchen so no need to worry about food going astray!

We're pretty chilled about you having 'visitors' - we're all grown-ups! We don't see the need for endless house rules as we rely on finding other considerate people.

The House
The house is really spacious which is great as it means there's space to be together and also to get away from each other. We underwent a big refurbishment in 2021 so people always say what a nice, homely house it is. As it's owner occupied you can rely on the house being well maintained, warm and tidy.

One thing it's worth stressing is that this is a home, not just a place to sleep. You don't need to stay in your room as we consider that you are buying into the whole house.

There is also a third bedroom which we keep unoccupied so that friends and family can come and stay. You are also welcome to have friends and family stay in the room at no extra charge.

The garden is really nice and provides another space to work or relax. On days when it's really hot we also have a pop up jacuzzi. It gets the sunshine between around 10:00 and 16:00 so you can be assured of getting a good tan.

We have all the usuals (as well as some unusuals!) such as washing machine, tumble dryer, dish washer, microwave, 150mb fibre optic broadband, contemporary gas fire in the lounge, projector for movie nights, Netflix and every year we have one of the best Christmas trees in London!

As I work from home you can also rely on your internet deliveries being received safely – consider me your concierge!

The Area
We're right opposite a small park in a quiet street. Also nearby, are two larger parks, Kennington Park and Burgess Park which offer great sporting facilities. There are lots of gyms around us including a Gym Box, budget gyms and a brand new public swimming pool which residents can use for free on Sunday's. There are a few nice places to go for dinner or drinks. There is a good supermarket and a high street 5 minutes away.

Getting About
Kennington station provides direct access to both the City and Charring Cross branch of the Northern Line which makes getting all over the city quick and easy. Southbank, London Bridge and Clapham are all about 10 minutes away; Leicester Square and Bank are 15 minutes; and Battersea is 20 minutes.

If you’re a cyclist, there’s lockable cycle storage in the street and Santander bikes nearby as well as the myriad of other providers. There’s residents parking on the street if you have a car.

We're also only 15 minutes walk from Vauxhall if you enjoy the nightlife.

About Us
We've been together for 25 years so are very settled and don’t have dramas.

We're quite down to earth guys. Jaimie works in theatre design and has worked on some of London’s biggest shows including for the Royal Ballet and Disney. After 15 years in marketing, I have just finished training in upholstery and soft furnishings and am slowly setting up a business from home. Don't let that worry you as I have a dedicated upholstery studio in our new extension.

We tend to watch tv, go to the theatre or meet with friends on evenings during the week, and tend to entertain friends or go out or away at weekends. We love getting friends round for a Sunday roast. We always invite our housemates to join in when we have friends round but there is no pressure to do so if you don't want to.

We've had several lodgers before and I believe make good housemates as all have stayed for multiple years and been happy here, leaving for positive reasons. We don't rent the room out purely for financial gain but because we enjoy having someone around the house. I believe we create a comfy, friendly, supportive, informal atmosphere.

We'd love to find someone who wants to be a member of the household rather than a ghost tenant but equally we're not looking to be in each others’ pockets and respect your need for private space.

We’ve made friends with all our neighbours and are often to be found answering pleas for help! As a result, we also work at Simon Drake’s House of Magic about 12 nights a year which is at the bottom of the street.

We're not big into the 'scene' anymore but are good company, sociable and supportive with a great sense of humour.

We're clean and tidy but not obsessive.

We have have a young cat called Bailey who likes to be spoiled with treats, prawns and chicken!
