Hello!
We're looking for a lovely person to join our home, and at £950, this room is a gem in an otherwise scary London rental market.
The house is a spacious, characterful Victorian with a separate living room and dining area, and a huge garden at the back - no buildings behind us, just greenery and light. The rent is £ 950, plus bills that include Wi-Fi, water, electricity, and council tax. Bills are roughly £120 during summer and £200 in winter.
It's clean, quiet, and fully furnished, with loads of storage both in the room itself and in a dedicated shed outside (plus extra kitchen storage, so you won't struggle with storage).
You'd be sharing the house with three of us: me, my partner Aaron, and Nahal. Aaron has lived here for four years, which tells you how good the setup is. We're moving into the ensuite, so the new person would share the other bathroom with just Nahal. Nahal is queer, so it's important to us that whoever joins is respectful and inclusive.
As for the housemates: I work in communications and design, Aaron is a developer, part of the effective altruism community, and also a musician (free live performances on request). Nahal is a dentist and an artist. We each have our own lives, interests, and friend groups, but we also enjoy a good chat, cooking together, or watching a film. We're not a party house, but friends over for a birthday, festival, etc., are welcome - we do the same.
Location-wise, you're 8 minutes on foot from Bakerloo, Mildmay, and Lioness Line stations, which will take you about 15 minutes to Euston and 20 minutes to Oxford Street.
The neighbourhood is lovely: community-driven, with a great local library, an independent cinema, a charming high street full of indie shops, pubs, and restaurants, and two gyms within a 10-minute walk.
We have an amazing landlord who is super responsive whenever anything needs fixing.
What we're looking for:
Above all, someone clean and tidy who looks after the shared spaces - that's an absolute must.
A professional person(PhD students are welcome too). Someone who's happy to be neighbourly without it being a big commitment. Ideally, vegan or vegetarian, or at least happy not cooking meat at home since none of us does. And brownie points if you're into sparring ideas, altruism, or have creative interests- we'd love that.
Furry friends are welcome!
If this sounds like your kind of place, we'd love to hear from you!
