Room available on lovely riverside street – Limehouse/Wapping
I have a double room available in a lovely three-storey house on a quiet, historic street in Limehouse, right by the Thames and within easy walking distance of Wapping and Canary Wharf.
The house has loads of character, with big arched windows, lots of natural light and a spiral staircase between the floors. There’s a large shared living room, separate fully equipped kitchen and shared bathroom with a bath and shower.
The room itself is a cosy double with a large arched window and plenty of natural light. It can come furnished as pictured.
The location:
The location is probably one of my favourite things about living here! Although the street itself is quiet, you’re incredibly well connected and can easily walk towards either Canary Wharf or Wapping, St Katharine Docks and Tower Bridge.
Limehouse DLR and c2c station is around a 5-minute walk away. From there you have a direct DLR into Bank, or the c2c takes you straight into Fenchurch Street in around 4 minutes. Canary Wharf is around a 15–20 minute walk away, where you also have the Jubilee and Elizabeth lines.
I work near Liverpool Street myself and usually walk into the office in under an hour, so it’s particularly well located for anyone working around Liverpool Street/the City or Canary Wharf. There’s also easy access to the cycle superhighway if you prefer cycling.
The neighbourhood:
The Thames is practically on the doorstep and there are historic steps just outside leading down to a little stretch of river foreshore at low tide, which is a beautiful spot to go down and sit by the water.
The house is also on the same street as The Grapes, the historic riverside pub co-owned by Ian McKellen (a fun fact for any Lord of the Rings fans!) and you can walk along the river through Wapping towards old pubs like the Prospect of Whitby and on towards St Katharine Docks and Tower Bridge.
Behind the house is Limehouse Basin, where you can join the Regent’s Canal and walk along the water past boats and little cafés. The newly opened King Edward Memorial Park Foreshore is also nearby and has a beautiful new riverside walkway and seating overlooking the Thames.
The London Marathon also comes straight down our street once a year, which is always such a fun day with the whole neighbourhood out cheering everyone on!
Who you’ll be living with:
You’d only be sharing the house with me! I’m 31 and work full-time in the City near Liverpool Street. I’m friendly, sociable and easy-going and always up for a chat when we’re both around, but equally really appreciate having our own space and doing our own thing.
Ideally I’m looking for another young professional who is friendly, considerate and has a similar balance of being sociable while also having their own life and respecting each other’s space.
The room is £950 + bills and available from 1st October, although I can be a little flexible either side of this if needed!
If you think you might be a good fit, drop me a message with a little bit about yourself, what you do for work and when you’re looking to move. Happy to answer any questions and arrange a viewing from there :)
