Lovely, safe area

Located on the Tooting/Streatham border. Brilliant for transport; easy access to tube and various mainlines.

The House

Characterful (chateau chic), 6 bed (3 bathrooms - so never a queue) Victorian property.

There is a big kitchen with lots of work surface, two fridge-freezers, plus two microwaves (one with a convection oven) and a six ringed range cooker with two ovens, so room for all in the kitchen. Plenty of space to congregate or to escape to one's own space, depending on one's mood.

Cleaner and fast Wi-Fi. Easy/free on road parking down side roads. Inclusive all bills (including council tax). No Couples. No overnight partners. as a matter of course.

The Room Available

The available room is one of the loft rooms. 4ft double bed, wardrobe with small drop leaf desk plus a 22 inch smart TV., and a work desk/chair,

Loft conversion has 2 bedrooms (this is one of them). It is bright and very high-ceilinged, with a panoramic view. There is a large bathroom and small 'common room' area with tea/coffee facilities, coffee table and mini-fridge (it is quite a long way down to the kitchen).. The ground floor living room is not shared unless we are having a group event, and most chat occurs in the kitchen. Lodgers sometimes chat over a bottle of wine or coffee in the common room.

Good Transport Links

Buses every few mins to Tooting Broadway (takes about 7 mins) or Brixton undergrounds from literally outside the door. Actually, walkable to Tooting in 19 mins at just over a mile (where one can be certain of getting on the tube and sometimes even land a seat, unlike further up the line, where one can be left waiting on the platform because the train is too packed!).

To check journey times on the underground, search from Tooting Broadway, because, given our SW16 postcode, TFL does tend to send one via Brixton, which takes longer.

Just a 10 minute walk to Streatham Common Mainline (6 mins to Balham, 10 mins to Clapham Junction, 19 mins to Victoria and 28mins to London Bridge).
15mins walk to Tooting Mainline ( trains for Farringdon, Blackfriars, Euston and Kings Cross) and 7mins to Wimbledon from there (although, there is also a direct bus from outside the door).

Share with whom?

Share with up to 4 inter-generational professionals. We are lovely!

*Non-meddling, cheerful and youthful, live-in landlord. A career consultant/psychologist mostly working from home (I have a large dedicated office). Handy for any career advice!

*Chilled, non-drinking and non-smoking, 29yr old boy/girl twins. My daughter (vegan), is an OT. My son, worked in Finance with an international charity. He is a big gamer, so he does not surface very often!

*In the other loft room (your floor), is an easy-going, very quiet, tidy and considerate charity manager/nurse/fitness instructor (54yrs). He cleans the bath after himself and creeps up and down the stairs! He stays in his room mostly and is never in the kitchen long (only as long as it takes to open a tin of tuna!).

*The last bedroom on the middle floor is only in use several times per week by a female event manager (27yrs).

Definitely no party animals here, but enjoy chats over a cup of tea and occasional barbecues and dinners. Hands up to always being busy and to us all spending far too much time working, in our individual rooms and/or on gadgets, but not reserved or unfriendly.

Interested in live entertainment, exhibitions, exercise classes (yoga), cycling, experiences and garden rather than in pubs or wild times. Can be sucked into I'm a Celebrity, Strictly and Netflix offerings, but also big biopic, true crime, documentary and quiz show fans.

Ambiance

While clean and relatively plush, this is definitely a home and not a show house.. Suit professionals not wanting a ready made riotous, social life, but a more homely, still and peaceful setting.

Our bulldog recently passed away, and there is a chance that I could get another in a year or so.

Whom would I prefer?

A non-smoking, quiet, clean and tidy, professional over 35 yrs.
