A bit about the household:

I’m Nate, and I live here with Jez, my very friendly ginger Vizsla, who tends to assume everyone coming through the front door has arrived specifically to see him.

I work in violence prevention and part-time as a pastor at a local church. My week is a mixture of community work, meetings, writing and being out and about, and home is very much where I like to switch off.

I’m easygoing and pretty independent, but I’d like this to feel like a genuine house share rather than simply two people who happen to sleep at the same address.

That doesn’t mean being joined at the hip. I really value having my own space and I’d expect you to as well. But it would be nice to live with someone who is up for chatting over dinner, watching something together, heading out for a drink, or occasionally making plans together.

I go to the gym regularly and enjoy hiking and camping, so if you’re someone who likes getting outdoors or fancies joining me for something from time to time, great. Equally, you don’t need to share all my interests. I’m mostly looking for someone friendly, grounded and easy to live with.

The property is owned by a local church, although in everyday life it is simply a normal home. Occasionally one of the downstairs rooms is used for a small community meeting or gathering, usually just a few people around a table. You absolutely don’t need to be religious, and there’s no expectation that whoever lives here gets involved in church life.

Jez is a big part of the household, so you’ll need to be comfortable around dogs. He stays downstairs, which means the bedrooms and upstairs are dog-free.

More about the accommodation:

The house has two toilets, one upstairs and one downstairs, a large kitchen with plenty of storage, a cosy living room and a separate dining room that also works well if you occasionally work from home.

There’s a good-sized garden for London with outdoor seating and a BBQ. It’s a nice space for sitting outside, eating together or having a few friends over when the weather behaves itself.

The available bedroom is upstairs, overlooks the garden and is unfurnished, so you can bring your own furniture and make it feel like your room rather than moving into somebody else’s.

Wi-Fi is fast and reliable throughout the house and is included along with the usual household bills.

The let is managed through a local letting agency, so the tenancy and practical side of things are dealt with properly.

Ultimately, I’m hoping to find someone who has their own life and enjoys their independence, but who also likes the idea of coming home to someone they know and get on with. A bit of conversation, the occasional shared meal or plan, plenty of space when we want it, and a home that feels friendly and relaxed.

If that sounds like what you’re looking for too, send me a message and tell me a little about yourself.
