Room in a social house 15 mins from Portobello

We have one room available in our bright, spacious house near Portobello Road.

I (Steph) have lived in the house for almost five years and have absolutely loved my time here, making some amazing friends along the way. I'm now moving out, so sadly it's time for me to leave!

The room:

The room is on the lower ground floor and backs onto the garden, with built-in cupboard storage. Despite being downstairs, it still gets plenty of natural light and stays nice and cool during the summer and warm in the winter.

The room comes with a bed (with space for storage underneath) mattress, and a chest of drawers. The wardrobe, desk, chair, bedside table as well as a lot of soft furnishings can also be purchased if needed.

About the house:

The house is a beautiful four-bedroom Victorian property with high ceilings and lots of natural light. We occupy the lower two floors.

It's a great house for hosting thanks to the open-plan layout, and the garden is a huge bonus. We have one shower, two toilets, and a utility room with a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. There's also space for bikes and extra storage in a large cupboard under the stairs.

The house is fully furnished, but there's always room for a few extra touches.

Bills are very reasonable and come to around £120 per month, including water, gas, electricity, Wi-Fi, TV licence and council tax.

We rent through a local agency who are responsive and easy to contact whenever needed.

About us:

We're a fun, social house who enjoy a night out just as much as a cosy night in. We love reality TV, keeping active, going to the gym, running, and getting out for walks. We're also big fans of trying new restaurants, going to gigs and festivals, and occasionally getting competitive over card and board games.

Alex and Vincent are originally from Cambridge, and Naiomi is from North Wales. We've all lived in London for several years.

Alex (30) works in music and live events, Vincent (28) works in television, and Naiomi (31) is a pharmacist. We all work regular Monday–Friday schedules, with a mix of hybrid and office-based working.

Who we're looking for:

We're looking for a friendly professional who wants to be part of the house. Whether that's joining us for a night out, a gym class, a walk, or simply watching TV together, we'd love to find someone who enjoys socialising and having a chat about everything from disastrous dates to world events over a cup of tea or a glass of wine.

That said, we also respect everyone's personal space and downtime.

We're all friends, having met through SpareRoom and mutual friends, and often go on holidays, nights out, gym trips and festival weekends together. We'd love to find someone who wants to become part of that rather than simply renting a room.

We don't mind any gender, as long as you're clean, tidy, considerate and respectful of your housemates.
