The Home:
This is a fantastic apartment with a spacious living area, kitchen, and a balcony with steps leading down to a back garden — all shared spaces. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, stove, fridge, and dishwasher.
You enter on the ground floor, and stairs lead up to the first-floor apartment, where you'll find the two bedrooms as well as the shared living spaces. There's a shared bathroom for the inhabitants of Room 1 and Room 2, complete with a fantastic shower, plus a washing machine and dryer.
Council tax is included in the rent but other monthly bills are not, (like gas, electricity, water and wifi) they will be split equally between inhabitants on a monthly basis, to be paid within a week of notice.
Both the single and double rooms available for rent have just been freshly painted and come with new beds and brand-new mattresses. You'll need to bring your own bed sheets, etc.
The Area
This is a great neighbourhood full of young professionals and families — residential, relaxed, and very well connected.
- The River Thames is at the bottom of the street, just 2 minutes away — perfect for running or walking.
- Transport links are close by: both Barnes Bridge and Mortlake rail stations are just a 10-minute walk away, with direct trains of 20–25 minutes to Waterloo.
- On the street, the 209 bus takes you to Hammersmith in 15 minutes, where you can access the London Underground.
- We're located between Barnes and Richmond in Mortlake — two lovely areas of London with great parks, bars, cafés, and restaurants.
- Shops and cafés near the house are no more than a 5-minute walk away.
About Me:
I'll be living upstairs in the second-floor loft of the apartment, so we'll be living together while still having separate spaces for everyone to relax and enjoy their own space.
I'm from Ireland, 29 years old, but grew up between London and Ireland. I'm a football journalist, and my girlfriend — an engineer from Colombia — regularly visits and stays with me on the second floor.
I'm crazy about travel and football, and I love exploring London, training, reading, eating, and I'm also into languages, history and politics. I've lived and spent time in South America (Colombia, Argentina, and Brazil), as well as Spain and Italy, so I speak English, Spanish, Portuguese, and a bit of Italian. I love the culture, food, and lifestyle from these countries — so if you're from one of them, that would be a really cool bonus, as I'd love the chance to practise my languages with you!
I'm a calm and clean person to live with, and I hope for the same in my housemates. I enjoy going out for the odd beer on weekends, but I'm also playing a lot of football, into my fitness, and generally just want to relax after work — so I'd like to live with people who have a similar mindset.
It's really important to keep common areas clean and tidy — from dishes to washing — clean up after yourself, and leave things as you found them, out of respect for other housemates. Keeping noise to a minimum outside of normal hours is appreciated too. No pets or smoking in the house. The usual stuff!
