The house: a two-bedroom terraced house with an open-plan living room, a modern kitchen and breakfast area, and a bathroom with a shower over the bath. There’s a small private garden with outdoor furniture and allocated off-street parking.

The house is listed as unfurnished, but I have most of what we need and will negotiate with the departing tenants to buy what they are willing to sell.

The room: a good-sized double (4.33 x 2.01 m) at the back of the house, overlooking the garden, with a fitted wardrobe. It fits a double bed, and the room is unfurnished, so you'll need to bring your own bed and furniture.

Rent: £1,150 per month. Bills are split 50/50 and are estimated at around £165- £ 190 each per month (council tax, gas and electric, water, and broadband). You’d join the tenancy as a joint tenant with the agency, so referencing applies.

About me: I’m Connor, 31, and work in tech. I'm an American who has been living abroad since 2021.
