Bright and sunny one-bed in South Norwood

I’m looking for a responsible and quiet person or couple to rent my one-bedroom flat in the South Norwood / Crystal Palace area, a short walk from Norwood Junction station.

This bright, sunny and generously sized flat is on the top floor of a converted Victorian mansion. It has a separate kitchen adjacent to the living room. The bedroom leads to a large eaves space that is great for storage or yoga practice (not pictured). There are two parking spaces behind the building, available on a first-come first-served basis. Currently only one space is used regularly, so free parking is usually available. You'll also have access to a massive shared garden, home to a beautiful old willow tree.

The flat is a quick 8-minute walk from Norwood Junction station, with excellent transport links to central London. The non-stop fast train to London Bridge takes just 12 minutes, while Gatwick Airport is around 20 minutes in the opposite direction. The station also serves the Windrush Overground line to Highbury & Islington via New Cross and Whitechapel.

There are some lovely shops, restaurants and cafés near the station and along the High Street, with Aldi and Tesco close by. Two large parks and a lake are just around the corner.

Everyone in the building is super lovely and friendly. The neighbours help each other out, eg by accepting parcels or keeping an eye on things when someone is away, so it’d be great to have someone with the same neighbourly attitude. At the same time, everyone is very respectful of each other’s privacy, so certainly no curtain-twitching surveillance from next door!

Above all, this is a quiet residential building on an even quieter road, and I have a great relationship with the neighbours and would love to keep it that way. While the odd dinner with friends is absolutely fine, crazy house parties and constantly having tons of people over are not really an option I'm afraid.

I’ll be abroad for work for a minimum of six months, possibly longer. I’m looking for a mature and responsible individual or couple who’d be happy to rent the flat for an initial six-month period, after which we can see how things go. There’s a very good chance I’ll be away for longer.

The rent is £1,450 pcm plus bills. Council tax is £169 pcm, but I’d be happy to cover half of that. All other bills are metered. The deposit is one month’s rent.
