Furnished double loft room in East London

Furnished double loft room available in a social queer-friendly flat in east London five minutes from Stepney Green station. We’ll be having viewings WC 17/08.

Start date: the room is available from the 24th September, and ideally someone would move in between then and the 1st October. You would be taking over the lease which is rolling as per the renters rights act, and would be subject to referencing and deposit.

Cost: The room is £850 per month, and bills and council tax are £85. The deposit is £750. One tenant pays rent collectively to the landlord.

The room: A furnished double on the second floor loft of a lovely big period property, with a window overlooking back gardens. The only room on the second floor with lots of storage and very quiet.

The rest of the house: You will share a garden, alongside a kitchen-living room and two bathrooms.

Flatmates: five lovely housemates – all working professionals aged mid-twenties to mid-thirties (three guys, one woman, one non-binary). More than half of us are queer and the others are firm allies. Everyone is friendly and social with their own schedules, and there are often opportunities to get involved in plans (but no obligation). Ideally we would be looking for a woman or nonbinary person to preserve gender ballance.

Access: Entry is via the ground floor of the house is up five steps from the street. Access to the room (second floor) from the ground floor is up approx. 28 stairs. The kitchen and second bathroom are in the basement and access to the garden is off the kitchen – there is a series of 12 steps to get down to the basement from the ground floor. There are four steps up into the garden.

Area and transport links: As well as being five mins from Stepney Green station (District and Hammersmith and City lines), we are around ten mins from Mile End station (Central Line). We’re also a short walk from Mile End Road meaning loads of buses too.
