Hi!
We have a double bedroom in our Stokey home available from 23 October.
The room is a good-sized double with space for a double bed, desk if you’re working from home, wardrobe, bedside table and other bits, with some additional under-stair storage to keep extra things tucked away. It’s on the ground floor, gets good light and has a leafy view. Our housemate who’s leaving has been very happy here.
*The house*
The house is split across two levels, with two bedrooms on each floor, two bathrooms (so you’re only sharing with one other person - that would be me), a big kitchen, dining area and a separate big living room downstairs. Both bathrooms have showers and baths.
We have a large garden, with a big apple tree. The garden admittedly needs some work done to bring it back to its best but we definitely have a lot of outdoor space to work with.
*Transport / location / things nearby*
You can be on the platform at Rectory Road overground station (Weaver Line) in three minutes (lifesaver!) and the 73 bus route starts at the end of our street. We’re close to two great parks: Hackney Downs is a five-minute walk and beautiful Clissold Park is 15 mins along Church Street (which is itself a great shopping strip).
There are loads of great neighbourhood cafes and restaurants close by, including the amazing Bake Street (2 mins away). Clapton and Dalston are right next door and a little further afield you get Hackney Central and Newington Green.
*About us*
We are an easygoing bunch in our mid-30s and up, working in a mixture of design/photography/for charities. It always sounds like a cliche but it’s true - we’re not a party house but it’s always nice to have a glass of wine and a chat of an evening! We like it to be a home to come back to rather than just a room, but we’re not in each other’s pockets either and everyone has plenty of space/privacy to chill and do their own thing. We love film, music, art, food, y’know, all the good stuff.
If you think this sounds like the place for you we’d love to hear from you!
*Admin bits*
The room comes unfurnished but our housemate who’s leaving would be happy to leave her furniture if you’d like any of it.
We have a cleaner once a fortnight for the communal spaces and bathrooms as we find it really helps, and take it in turns to pay (£40). Council Tax is Band C. We deal directly with our private landlord who’s always been chill with us.
Just drop us a message if you have any questions. As a guide to interested people, we are looking to have viewings on the weekend of 19th and 20th Sept and can possibly slot in a few people at other times near that if those dates are not possible for anyone so get in touch and let us know you're interested.
