I am currently looking for a flatmate to join me in a lovely flat in Streatham Hill from October (earlier move could be possible), as my current flatmate is moving in with her partner.
The property is a two-bed flat with one bathroom, a large open plan living/dining/kitchen area with washing machine and dishwasher.
Tooting Bec Common is only a 5 minute walk away, which is great for summer evenings. There is also a decent-sized shared garden, although I haven't really made good use of it!
There is a Co-Op, M&S Food and Tesco Express all within close walking distance, with larger supermarkets a 30-min walk or 15 minute bus ride away.
The letting agent and landlord have generally been really responsive to any repairs that have been needed.
Transport:
There is a bus stop at the end of the road, which makes it really convenient to get to Brixton, Elephant and Castle, and even into central London.
Streatham Hill train station is approx. 7 minutes walk away, and goes direct to Victoria in 20 minutes or Clapham Junction in 10 minutes. In other other direction, you can get to London Bridge or Crystal Palace easily.
The nearest tube station is either Balham (20 minutes walk) or Brixton (short walk and 15 mins by bus).
There is a parking space available on the drive.
A bit about me:
I'm a 32 year old professional, looking to find a like-minded and friendly housemate to join me in this lovely flat!
I work for a small refugee charity, supporting young refugees and asylum seekers to access education in the UK. I generally work 9am-5pm (with the occasional evening) and generally work from the office at least 3 times a week.
In my spare time I enjoy going to gigs or to the theatre, meeting friends for coffee, reading and exploring new places. I'm not much of a party-er, but occasionally end up on a spontaneous night out.
I regularly attend church at Northcote Church, which is an LGBTQ+ affirming church in Clapham.
I have spent some time living abroad (Canada, Italy, France) but moved to London nearly five years ago and am really enjoying calling London 'home' for now.
About the flat / new flatmates:
The flat has been a great place to live for the past two and a half years. My current flatmate and I have made an effort to create a friendly home which I would love to continue with a new flatmate. Ideally, I would ask for a year's commitment to living here.
I'm ideally looking for a flatmate who would be up for socialising together outside of the house from time to time, who would be up for sometimes hosting friends for dinner, and are respectful of each other's need for space and down time too.
We currently have a cleaner who comes every other week.
I'll be looking to do viewings over the next few weeks. Feel free to get in touch, let me know a bit about yourself and we'll go from there!
