Double room in spacious, homely flat, with terrace

Hi room hunters,

We have a double room available for a lodger in our flat in Stroud Green, 5 minutes walk from Finsbury Park itself and 15 minutes from both Finsbury Park and Manor House tubes. We've lived here for six years and completely renovated the place when we moved in.

The flat is lovely and light, with a good-sized terrace and decent-sized rooms. It's on a small, quiet and very friendly street just off Oakfield Road in N4. There is an abundance of green spaces, cafes and restaurants nearby, as well as the West Reservoir and Crouch End lido.

The room has a double bed, a double wardrobe, a set of drawers and a rug. It has a comfy mattress (not shown in pics). There is also room for a small desk. It is on the first floor (the floor plan is misleading) with a window overlooking the terrace.

We’re in our late 40s/early 50s and work in the fields of publishing/content design (Anna) and education (Dan - a former English teacher, though now early retired). Dan will be away from late October for six months, so for most of the next year it will be just Anna in the flat (as well as occasional friends and family staying). She is often at home during weekdays, so we'd prefer someone who isn't intending to always be working from home. Dan's 18 year old daughter stays occasionally, though she won't be around much this year.

We're friendly people and would want whoever moves in to feel at home. We also have a (very friendly) cat.

In terms of the type of person we’re looking for, the key things are for someone who is respectful, responsible, friendly and not too noisy. This is a lodger set-up for someone after a quiet, clean and friendly space with the convenience of all bills included, as well as everyday household items like washing up liquid, cleaning products, toilet roll etc. Would likely suit a working professional or PhD student.
