Hi! We’ve got a furnished double room available in a lovely flat in a lovely area in Stroud Green.
About the flat:
The flat has a big living room, a separate spacious kitchen with a breakfast bar, a bathroom with a toilet, a separate toilet and a shed area for bike storage. It’s on a quiet street, just off Stroud Green road.
It’s all very well furnished and we take care to keep it nice. We’re always trying to improve the flat. We have nice mugs, bowls etc., which you’ll be more than welcome to use. We would be happy to add to the collection if you have stuff of your own, but we have the kitchen essentials.
The flat stays very cool in summer but is easy to keep hot in winter. The bedroom gets a good amount of light from two windows. It’s very spacious with built in storage, a double bed, a desk and plenty of space leftover.
About us:
You’ll be living with two 25-year-olds. Felix is from Quebec and works in criminal justice research. Sam is from Somerset and has just finished his master’s in Urban History. We are great friends and love doing lots together, including going to one of the many great local pubs, cooking, playing squash, the sauna, the occasional board game and movie. Whilst you’ll be welcome to join in, there’s no pressure to be doing all of this with us.
We aren’t constantly hosting parties (though for birthdays, halloween etc we do!) but we do enjoy having some friends over. You of course would be welcome to have your friends over too, or if you’re a master’s/PhD student new to London it could be an opportunity to meet some new people.
We are generally tidy and like to keep the house clean. We don’t currently operate any sort of cleaning rota as we both just contribute naturally, but would be happy to have a rota if that works for you.
About the area:
We live super close to many lovely pubs. The Faltering Fullback is the most popular, though our faves are the Robin and WB Yeats. There’s lovely coffee shops (Common Ground especially). Big Tesco is a one minute walk and Lidl is 10 minutes away. There’s an Asian supermarket just a couple minutes away. Finsbury Park and the parkland walk are just a 5 minute walk away.
In terms of transport, I’ve never lived somewhere better. Being a 10 minute walk from Finsbury Park makes it so easy to get to most of London using Victoria (or Picadilly) line and proper trains. The Crouch Hill station is even closer and useful for going to Hampstead Heath (Gospel Oak) or Walthamstow.
Rent is £1,200 + bills (vary, but roughly £120 a month). We’re looking for someone roughly our age, but I’m afraid no couples.
Look forward to hearing from you!
