Double Room in Surrey Quays

Just outside the front of the house

Double room with kingsize bed in absolutely gorgeous area of south east London. House is pretty central and is perfectly situated for public transport. Closest station is Surrey Quays over ground (5 mins walking), Canada Water with the Jubilee and late night tube (7-10 mins walking) and Surrey Quays bus station (5 mins walking). 20 metres from the front door leads directly to the waterside of Greenland docks.

The house has three floors with the advertised room on the third. It is the largest room in the house and comes furnished.

The house includes a living room, bathroom (with WC) and separate 2nd WC. There is a garage that you can use for a car or storage. There is also amply free parking all around the property. Nice patio area at the front of the house for summer BBQs.

One house mate (Joaquín from Chilli) speaks lot's of different languages, is social and works in hotel marketing. Currently stuck in Chile due to covid travel restrictions, but hopefully he will find his way back home soon. The other (Joe from Yorkshire) is a neuroscientist, also social, likes to keep fit and has a number of projects going on including gardening and building outdoor furniture for the house.

Whereas the house could do with a lick of paint here and there and maybe some modernisation, this does mean that we very rarely have any dealings with the landlord. In fact there has been no indication of an increase in rent for many years. Despite this, any repairs get managed straight away by the agent. So far, any issues we had (i. e. needed a new oven) this had been dealt with very promptly.

I can's stress enough how amazing the location is. Quiet enough despite being almost in zone 1 but with great transport links, a local gym (on the quay) which you get free access to with the council tax (Fri, Sat and Sun), 5 minute walk to a large Tesco or Lidl.

The bills depend on consumption, but are usually around £70 per month including the internet.
