I’m a researcher looking for a friendly flatmate to share a modern 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom flat in Surrey Quays (SE16 7EQ).

Available from 27 November 2026 onwards.

Rent and bills

Rent is £1,100 pcm, excluding bills.

Bills are usually around £80–£100 per person per month, depending on usage. The flat is Council Tax Band E, which works out at around £100 per person per month when split between us.

The total monthly cost would therefore be around £1,280–£1,300.

The flat

The flat is modern, bright and spacious. As it is a 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom flat, we would each have our own bathroom.

There is a comfortable shared living room and a fully equipped kitchen. The flat comes with a dishwasher, oven, microwave and washer-dryer.

There is also a free residents’ gym in the building.

Location

The location is very convenient:

- Tesco Express and Co-op are just downstairs
- Large Tesco and Lidl are around 10 minutes’ walk away
- Surrey Quays Overground station is around a 10-minute walk
- Canada Water station, with Jubilee and Overground lines, is around 15 minutes’ walk
- The 199 bus runs nearby and operates 24 hours
- The riverside is around 10 minutes away and is lovely for an evening walk

The area is generally quiet and residential while still being well connected to central London.

A little about me

I’m a researcher and work from home most of the time, so I value having a comfortable home where we can both work or rest without too much noise.

I’m tidy, clean and considerate. I’ve also got a TV and PS5 in the living room, which you’d be very welcome to use.

I occasionally have friends over for food, drinks or games, so I’m not looking for a completely silent household, but generally the flat is calm and relaxed.

I also have a cat, so you must genuinely like cats and be happy living with one. There are naturally a few cat toys and other cat things around the flat, particularly in the living room.

Who I’m looking for

I’m ideally looking for a female professional. Someone working in research, academia or a similar field would be particularly welcome, although this isn’t essential.

I’m looking for someone who is clean, considerate and happy to share responsibility for keeping the common areas tidy.

I’d also like to live with someone who is friendly and comfortable with normal day-to-day socialising, while still respecting each other’s personal space and routines.

If it seems like we might be a good fit, I’d like to have a coffee chat before making a final decision, just so we can get to know each other a little.
