Large double room at our friendly home in Vauxhall. Huge living space and lovely garden which is available on the 26th November.
THE ROOM:
Large double with plenty of space for chilling out and also working from home. It comes furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, bedside table, chest of drawers, storage cubes, and a desk for home working. There is also a small bathroom you'll mostly have to yourself which is a big plus!
THE HOUSE:
There's so many great qualities about this house - it's hard to put into words, but we've done our best to summarise!
The house overall is massive - quite a rarity for central London. There's a large standalone kitchen, great for cooking, large enough that multiple can cook at once. We have a double lounge and dining room, of which we've converted the dining room into a work from home space. There's plenty of room to chill out.
There's 3 bathrooms in the house, so there is never an issue of waiting in the mornings! One of the bathrooms is absolutely huge with a gorgeous freestanding bathtub.
Additionally, there is a basement level which can be used for storage.
We have a lovely garden area outside, which is perfect for BBQ's and those late summer drinks with friends. We also use the garden and the rest of the house for hosting occasional dinners and housemate birthday parties.
The house was renovated only a couple of years ago so it's still nice and new. The landlord is very responsive and cares about the property too.
LOCATION:
The house is located a hidden gem of an area. It's very central but feels like a true neighbourhood. There's lot of local independents including top-rated coffee shops and Michelin-guide pubs. We often go for coffee walks during WFH days, or off to a local pub on a Friday.
We're a 5 minute walk from Nine Elms Station (Northern line) which has huge Sainsbury's, Argos and Starbucks. We're also a 7 minute walk to Vauxhall (Victoria line and South western rail) and 10min walk to Stockwell and Oval (Northern line). There are also multiple bus routes directly to Brixton, Clapham Common, Victoria, Regent Street and Marylebone.
YOUR NEW HOUSEMATES:
Lilli works as a behavioural scientist for a government research consultancy. You can usually find her at a pub watching rugby or football (and occasionally playing them both), enjoys a nice meal out or at home watching Below Deck with other the housemates.
Danielle is a science teacher who has lived here for a few years. She's often at the theatre, doing a pub quiz, watching tennis or jamming to some Taylor Swift in the kitchen.
James works as a data scientist and enjoys making the most of London outside of work. He's active, enjoys bouldering and travelling, and is always happy to have a chat in the kitchen or shared living spaces.
Mikaela (me) works in finance, having made the move over to London from Australia two years ago. She spends her weekends utilising the best travel deals, out hiking, or hanging out with friends at the pub. She's always down for a chat and wine after work.
We're a friendly mixed bunch, always down for a chat and dinner together but we also respect each others personal space. We all get on really well, and want to find a new housemate that we can keep this going with.
