🏡 Two Double Rooms Available in Wandsworth Town

We’ve got two double rooms becoming available in our lovely Wandsworth flat, where I’ve lived for the past few years.

Sadly, my current housemates are moving on, but I really love the flat (and the area!) and would like to stay, so I’m looking for two friendly, easygoing people to make it their home too.

Here’s a quick summary:

🚂 Transport: Wandsworth Town (~5 min walk) and Clapham Junction (~12 min walk)
💷 Rent: £883 / £983 per month depending on room
🔧 Bills: ~£100 pcm each
🛋️ Furnishing: Both rooms fully furnished
🅿️ Parking: On-street permit parking available
🏠 Looking for: Someone hoping to stay at least 6 months, ideally longer
🧽 Cleaner: We also pay ~£26pp each month for a fortnightly cleaner (~£13 per visit)

THE FLAT

The flat is split across two levels, so there’s plenty of space for three people without feeling on top of each other.

We have a large separate living room, a spacious and well-equipped kitchen with dishwasher, washing machine and microwave, and two shared bathrooms, including a bath and two showers.

It’s a genuinely homely flat rather than somewhere that feels like a collection of rented rooms, and we’ve been really lucky to call it home for the past few years.

THE ROOMS

Room 1 – £983 pcm

The larger of the two rooms is a huge 5m x 5.5m double bedroom, fully furnished with a king-size bed and mattress.

It has two built-in cupboards with rails and shelving, a bedside table, large chest of drawers and plenty of room for a desk and chair.

There’s also a large east-facing double-glazed window, so you get loads of natural light and the morning sun, particularly lovely in winter!

The current housemate is moving back to New Zealand and can also leave behind a duvet, pillows, sheets, fan and dehumidifier if useful.

Room 2 – £883 pcm

The second room is a comfortable medium-sized double room with plenty of natural light.

It comes furnished with a spacious wardrobe, bookshelf and chest of drawers, with a window overlooking a quieter area away from the main road, so it’s relatively peaceful.

It’s a great option if you’d prefer the cheaper room while still having plenty of storage and access to all the shared space in the flat.

THE LOCATION

We’re tucked away in a quiet residential part of Wandsworth, while still being really well connected.

Wandsworth Town station is around a 5-minute walk away, with Vauxhall just three stops/~9 minutes away for the Victoria line. Clapham Junction is also around a 12-minute walk, making it really easy to get around London (and very handy for Gatwick!).

Southside Shopping Centre, supermarkets including Lidl and Sainsbury’s, cafés, pubs, gyms and yoga studios are all nearby.

There’s also loads of green space within walking distance, including Spencer Park, Wandsworth Common, Battersea Park and the riverside.

A BIT ABOUT ME

I’m David, 34, and I’ve lived here for the past few years.

I run a London-based community organisation, so my work is a mixture of working from home, organising events and being out and about across London.

Outside work, I’m pretty sociable and enjoy seeing friends, going to events, board games, pub quizzes, walks and exploring London, but I also really value having a relaxed home to come back to.

I’m easygoing, clean and respectful of other people’s space. I’d love to find housemates who are similarly friendly and up for the occasional chat, drink, dinner or evening together, while also having their own lives and doing their own thing.

The aim isn’t to create a party house or somewhere where everyone disappears into their bedrooms - ideally it’ll continue to feel like a friendly, comfortable home.

RENT & BILLS

Rent is £883 pcm for the medium room and £983 pcm for the larger room.

Bills are around £100 per person per month, covering Wi-Fi, gas, electricity, water and council tax (the lowest in the country at present).

We have a good relationship with our private landlord, so there are no agency fees and they’ve generally been really straightforward when anything needs sorting.
